I AM YOU YOU AM I is the core gesture of a rogue performance that I created with my friends in a courtyard in Berlin, and it is the core phrase of my belief system. 

The act of making this artwork and minting it is an attempt to bring together my history of presence-based work with my engagement in cryptoart and AI. To do so, I’ve encapsulated every part of my practice: voice, poetry, fashion, painting, performance, generative AI, and surrender.

The mask I wear is not a means of hiding; it is a vehicle to consciously claim the space between myself and the world, to use it intentionally in order to invite and invoke new means of connection. When I lift the mask, it is not myself that I reveal, but the place where all of us are merged into a nameless being.

When we commit to the moment and surrender to the unconditional, all that we can do is hold each other from within. 


The costume I wear in this piece is a fabric that I hand-painted and was sewn by the designer Don Aretino & headpiece by Lorenzo Seghezzi
The video was filmed by videographer Ansgar Schwarz.
The AI  layers were generated using Stable Diffusion and Runway.
The date of minting is the anniversary of my first music video, PATHS, filmed on the 11.11 2017

LATENT COUTURE is a collection of 555 AI fashion statements generated from photographs of Woodbridge's years of experience as a performer, painter, designer, and nightlife icon. The opposite of a deepfake, this mode of generative AI reaches into the latent space to find the deepreal. Each image branches from a moment in Woodbridge's life, articulating ephemeral threads and potential ways of being. Developed from the concept that 'a look is a meme,' each of these fashion statements says, 'This person is possible.'

With PAINTED, we wanted to find a way to bring Mikey's canvases to life in a digital form without losing the power of their physical presence. We created interactions between the canvas and the body to transform the two-dimensional image into a place.

We paint a world for ourselves -  a canvas to wear, a face to look out from and a digital image to invite the others in.

"Self-Portrait in Lunaria" is part of a world I began making in October 2021. I had reached a point of crisis between the narratives of normality and the anarchy of creation. On the full moon of that month, I constructed a ritual of commitment to art, a vow to serve it, protect it, and to be lunatic enough to follow it wherever it lives. This ritual became a music video titled "Lunaria," filmed with the support of my friends in Berlin. 

Lunaria is the place that I try to surround with my voice when I sing, to articulate with my hands when I paint, to embody when I present myself in performance. In this Self-Portrait, I use the deep learning model Stable Diffusion to imagine myself into the world of Lunaria. 

Starting with photographs of myself from the music video "Lunaria," I used image-to-image translation guided by text prompts to travel into Lunaria. Similar to the way that the Lunaria ritual was a means to resolve my higher self from the noise of expectation, this Self-Portrait resolves the avatar of my evolution from the noise of the diffusion model's latent space.

"Self-Portrait in Lunaria" is both a reaffirmation of my vows and a marker of a new direction where my art is leading me. It presents a vision of what I might be if I were born within the world of Lunaria: how my body might be shaped on the Lunaria planet, and what the fashions might be like in the Lunaria society.

The I hungers to be seen through the eyes of the Other. These are the faces I wore on nights when I crossed through the portal and looked back at this world.

OtherFaces is a collection of 111 photographs. They are generative artworks created by combining the biochemical algorithm of my body with the Other. The training data for these images is trance, sweat, fatigue, dimethyltryptamine, communal connection, sex, music & fashion.

Since 2015, I have been creating and collecting hundreds of faces made of make-up, skin and cloth. Each OtherFace NFT is an artefact of an experience where I became the Other – in performances, rituals, & raves. I transform myself in order to create transformative experiences. 

This project is an approach at translating what I do in the energetic/quantum realm into the realm of blockchain.The properties of each token represent the ingredients that fuelled the experience.
