The series started from me wanting to capture a way of making something very organic digital; from that, I searched for elements that could possibly come into play, from trees to mountains to animals, but fruits came as the best fit for the idea.


This approach would then lead me to challenge myself as to how to digitalize them while still maintaining their essence of “being alive”.


In my eyes, fruits symbolize a quick cycle - they grow, and not so long after they start to die; within that, the feeling of having to eternalize something that goes away fast would also be found symbolic when creating New-life, to Still-life.


Therefore, one of the objectives was also to merge the idea of eternalizing something that dies fast, while portraying it when it was in its peak of desirability/life. While still giving the usual touch of playfulness of capturing a distorted reality (of the viewer, or the image itself).


Also, in the collection, an empty bowl is shown; could be to place the fruits somewhere…although I see a bigger meaning in that.

Personally, this artwork symbolizes change for me. I have made the difficult decision to move back to the countryside, to be closer to old friends and family. I also see that this art resonates with my previous piece, 'Cheap Problems.' It has been a challenging change and decision, and I'm still in the process. I used to believe that the big city was synonymous with success and well-being, but the urban environment comes with various issues and situations that I prefer to deal with occasionally, perhaps during a trip or something similar.

I imagine I will feel better in my hometown where I grew up, surrounded by friends who have been with me since before my journey as 'omentejovem,' and of course, my family. And if I don't feel better, things are not set in stone, and I will be able to make another decision if I choose to. I believe this change will allow me to travel more and meet other friends along the way. I feel the need for a home and a place where I feel good, with people who make me feel good, with love and less rush and selfishness from the big city.

"Ether-Man ll" is a continuation from my first ever edition on Ethereum Blockchain called "Ether-Man", which firstly was minted on 01/11/2021 through the OpenSea Shared contract but has the ability to burn and get it on my own contract. The artwork speaks about my gratitude and needing from my collectors support and faith to keep achieving good things with my creative passion and crafts on my career. I believe an artist can't build a legacy alone, without relationships, and with both of our forces and faith, good things can come. I believe we all can't be really independent from relationships and nature, it would be non-natural if so. A big thank you for all my collectors, I'm happy that is my first ever mint on 2024. Recently, I went through a phase where I questioned why I was giving so much attention to certain problems in my life, especially after my dad's heart surgery. I realized that I want to focus on love and being the best version of myself, not just for my own benefit, but also for others. This inspired me to create the artwork called "Cheap Problems."

I created most of the piece while traveling back home in the bus to see my dad in the hospital after I knew about his heart attack. The artwork serves as a reminder to prioritize love and not waste energy on insignificant issues. The name comes from a past chat I had with my friend and fellow artist, Aleqth.

I am excited to continue experimenting and pursuing my passion while prioritizing my happiness, health, and relationships. "Cheap Problems" has become a personal mantra, a way to stay grounded and focused on what truly matters in life.

The 33 unique artworks presented in gämma are self-contained systems; each contains 3 seeds generated by the system, selected and arranged by the artist to comprise the final composition. The works are minted on Tezos — the first exhibition on Feral File to use this blockchain. 

p1xelfool conceptualized these works with Processing, its visual and responsive coding environment feeling more expressive to the artist than analog painting. The works are executed with p5.js, which allowed p1xelfool to program pixels in the browser in real-time. “Instead of asking the program to draw lines, I asked it to manipulate the pixel arrays,” he describes. This underscores the conceptual motivation of the project, namely, the reappropriation of pixels (and light and code) rather than the visuals produced by them. When viewing the work, there is the option to hit the “P” key to pause the pattern; hitting the “S” key will save and download the frame. 

p1xelfool’s generative animations are inspired by the logic of particle systems, yet they share no reference to the natural world. The visual environments of the works are specific only to the computer. In each work, two superimposed and interrelated systems simultaneously interact with one another. Their interrelated velocities determine the speed at which blocks of interplaying (and playful) color seem to descend to the bottom of the screen, cycling through new patterns and creating the illusion of endlessness. Colors and patterns are rhythmic and vibrational; visual pleasure is immense and infinite.

trāma is a project in continuity with a wider body of work exploring the subject of computers as a source of aesthetic phenomena.

Beyond being utilitarian machines, is it possible to have such devices not only as mediators between representational content and humans, but also as aesthetic manifestations that connect to our senses?

The low visual resolution, the motion, and the timing of the work are informed by early computer graphics, mechanical displays and the rawness that older computational systems tend to carry.

trāma features a generative system, conducted through realtime custom software that runs in the browser.
