DISTRACTED IDENTITIES by Jeremy Austin are 15 mischievous characters getting loose at the Blockparty, your character is hanging out with a few friends and your whereabouts is determined by when you arrived at the party. Once the party is full (all the blocks are collected), the composite artwork will be created and the individual blocks will be numbered and updated accordingly to show who you are hanging out with, a hint of the other characters will be visible within each block to show who is sitting either side, above and below. 15 editions of the composite artwork titled DISTRACTED IDENTITY BLOCKPARTY will be minted and airdropped to each of the character block holders.

This work only exists as a number of digital photographs alongside a 2 simultaneous video recordings. Not long after I made the work it was painted over. 

This translation of graffiti into contemporary art by way of performance, video and photography speaks to the power of destructive art practices , vandalism and social behaviors through the process of mark making and documentation.

The hooded and masked characters symbolise the changing nature of fame in the modern world, as both celebrity and anonymity become more extreme. 

By creating NFT's on the blockchain, artists like myself can ensure that our art is preserved and accessible for future generations, regardless of what happens to the physical medium it was created on.
