The right side of the scale however, takes on a digital persona. This realm represents the realm of Digital Rights, where the virtual realm intertwines with our daily lives.   
   
We witness the delicate balance between real-world and digital rights, where one cannot exist without the other, emphasizing the imperative to value each sphere equally. A profound reminder that compromising either realm would undermine the harmonious coexistence of these vital aspects of our lives.

Hovering in the chopper, doors off, 3,500 feet above the city, you can still feel the energy radiate from its heart. A neon-induced excitement overcomes you as you witness the crossroads of the World as it infinitely pulses and flows. Its occupants constantly change, but the energy never wavers. Welcome to Times Square - love it or hate it, you will never forget it.

Electric Avenues

On a select few days every year, the sun aligns perfectly on the street grid in Manhattan. This alignment provides us with this spectacular phenomenon known as Manhattanhenge. On these special days, traffic stops, people crowd the streets, and photographers swarm to their favorite spots. It's as if the city that never sleeps stops dead in its tracks to admire one of Mother Nature's finest displays. It lasts mere moments, but to the viewers, it's a moment they will never forget.

Manhattan's Magical Moment #66/69

The helicopter shook and rattled as it ascended higher into the icy sky, its doors flung wide open to reveal a panoramic view of New York City. Below, the city lay blanketed in a fresh coat of snow, the tops of its skyscrapers and buildings dusted with white. The air was cold and sharp, biting at my exposed skin as I looked on in awe.

For a moment, time stood still as all aboard took in the view. It was a moment of clarity and reflection amidst the chaos of the city, a chance to gain a new perspective on the world around them. And as the helicopter began its descent back down to the ground, I knew that this magical moment above the city that never sleeps was one I would never forget.

Frosted Tips

Ever since I was a kid, the USA has been a land of hope, wonder, and awe. The country is romanticized endlessly on the big screen. From watching Westerns with my grandad to The Simpsons with my parents, I was always drawn to this magical, faraway land. Heroes are made here, from Gherig & Ruth to Morrison &  Zappa. The lure of the US has been too strong for many, including myself. I always dreamed of living here, but of course, you're supposed to have these wild dreams when you're a kid. You get older, and these dreams get pushed aside for us to continue on our "predetermined" course. However, our path in life is delicately balanced by chance meetings/opportunities. By following my heart on one of these such meetings, I fulfilled that childhood dream and got to make a new life for myself in the land of Hope & Dreams. I get to travel to the same places and walk the same steps as the heroes I had gotten to learn so much about. This realization really hit home on the morning I took this photo. I was standing alone in the Valley Of The Gods, watching the sun come up and paint these ancient buttes with its first rays of the day. I got to thinking about what my Western loving granddad would have to say about it, and I could almost hear him say to me, "you've done alright for yourself, kid!" Don't be afraid to flow those dreams that you may have put on the backburner. Sometimes a leap of faith is the thing that you didn't realize you needed. Walk in your hero's footsteps. Travel to those magical lands. But most importantly, do what makes YOU happy.

Each image documents an everyday New Yorker bravely making their way through the storm as the winds whip snow into their faces. Each step taken is calculated. One misstep could lead to having a speedy and painful introduction to the pavement.

The photograph captures the essence of urban dynamism, where streaks of light blur amidst the bustling streets of Tudor City. It serves as a reminder to appreciate the fleeting beauty found within the ever-changing rhythm of our surroundings.

Spring Streakers #31/55

From high above, in a helicopter hovering over the city, the view is simply breathtaking. Like fiery tentacles, the sun's rays reach out to embrace the cityscape, creating a beautiful, almost surreal image of a new day dawning.

The buildings, ordinarily cold and hard, are softened by the sun's warm glow, giving them a renewed sense of life and vitality. The shadows of the skyscrapers stretch out across the streets below as if trying to hold onto the night just a little while longer.

Moments like these remind us of the sheer beauty and wonder that can be found in even the most urban of environments and make us grateful to be alive to witness such marvels.

"Snow Days In NYC" is a collection of 42 images, all 1/1s that document 6 years of work capturing NYC during some of the harshest weather conditions. 

When most people think of Snow Days, they think of staying warm inside, watching movies, and drinking hot chocolate. To a photographer a Snow Day means getting up before the storm hits, layering up in an ungodly amount of clothes, making sure your batteries are charged, your memory cards are empty, and hitting the streets.

Being out in a storm on near empty city streets brings a sense of child-like joy to us photographers. It feels like the city is our own. We search out the other brave souls that are commuting through the face-numbing cold and snow. These people become our focal points. Their unconventional commutes become a snapshot in time. 

All of the images are cropped at 16x9 to add more of a cinematic feel to the collection.

Snow Days In NYC V2

Alone but surrounded by others, wandering through the city, with the white noise of snowfall and the distant screeching sirens, a heroic figure weathers the storm. Carefully navigating the slick sidewalk, our subject is deep in thought, pondering if this path is the correct one. Where will his final destination be? One can't help but look within and think of all the times we were the wanderer. It is often only in our coldest, darkest moments that we can truly understand where we are supposed to be. J.R.R. Tolkien once said, "Not all those who wander are lost." I believe we are just searching for the right path for us, and the journey is the training we need to succeed once we get there.
