Rorschach's is a collection of Abstract photography that uses tenants of the Psychological Ink Blot test as part of its foundation & are derived from various photos within my Photography portfolio. Each Photograph is designed to invoke subjective imagery based on the perception, imagination and psychological perspective of each individual holder. 

The intent behind Rorschach's is to challenge the notion that Art and collectables within the NFT space & beyond require a complex story or a deeply nuanced narrative in order to have value. Instead every Rorschach allows for each individual viewing it to form their own story, meaning and emotional connection with it. Like a great deal of Art this allows for potentially endless possibilities but on a larger and more distinctive scale.

Rorschach's are photographs but more than that they're photos that are morphed, mirrored and transformed into unique 1/1 piece's of abstract photography. Each Rorschach is determined by the elements held within the original photo which are derived from an infinite number of traits from water, bone, skin, light, shadow, people & more.

Rorschach's are minted on their own ERC-721 Smart contract through Manifold.

A variant AI collection exclusively for Rorschach Holders. This collection exists as an extension of the abstract photography collection referred to as "Rorschach's."

Every piece in the Pareidolia collection is an AI interpreted variant of each original Rorschach. Each Pareidolia piece is airdropped to to the holder of the original Rorschach that correlates with the Pareidolia piece at the time of the drop.

"Pareidolia" is a scientific term that's based on the minds tendency to perceive a specific, often meaningful image in a random or ambiguous visual pattern. When the mind has difficulty ascertaining the meaning behind what its looking at, it creates meaning.

Part of the allure of Rorschach's was how we all interpreted the imagery based on our own perception. The visual fluidity of each image evolved from person to person.

The majority of the photographs in my Rorschach collection are completely abstract and therefore the things we perceive within them technically aren't there (Depending on your beliefs) But what appears to be something objective in a Rorschach isn't actually there but rather the Pareidolia effect.

But what if the interpretation of a Rorschach was no longer fully left in the hands of a human mind but assisted by an Artificial one? What if AI interpreted what was in each Rorschach based on what it sees? Well at that point the subjective imagery of a Rorschach becomes mostly objective.

Premonition

Attention, attention, this is an emergency broadcast. A mysterious light has been spotted in the sky and is rapidly spreading across the city. We urge you to avoid looking at the light at all costs.

It has been reported that those who have looked directly at the light have experienced, blindness, hearing loss, hardened skin and Full Body Paralysis. We are unsure of the origin or purpose of the light, but we advise all citizens to stay indoors and avoid looking outside.

If you must leave your home, use caution and stay in areas with low light levels. Avoid open spaces and do not look directly at the light. We repeat, do not look directly at the light.

We are currently working to determine the cause of the light and how to protect citizens from its effects. In the meantime, please stay calm and follow all safety protocols.

Again, this is an emergency broadcast warning of a mysterious light that you should avoid looking at at all costs. Stay safe and stay indoors.

Episode: Four.

A man suffering from extreme depression and loneliness stumbles upon a peculiar meteorite that infects him with a mysterious virus. Unknowingly, this virus turns him into patient zero for catastrophic events to come. Trapped in an endless state of anguish and despair, the man succumbs to his own darkness and takes his life. Unbeknownst to him, this irreversible action triggers a zombie apocalypse.

Reaching the afterlife, he realizes that he is still intertwined with his zombified corpse. Reanimated as nothing more than an undead creature, a mindless killing machine, a catalyst for the catastrophe ...

As the man watches from the afterlife, he is tormented by the memories of his past and the consequences of his actions. He is forced to confront his deepest fears and regrets as he witnesses the chaos and destruction around him.

Powerless as he witnesses the world collapse, the man struggles to come to terms with his own mortality and the legacy he has left behind. Reflecting upon his past and the choices that drove him to his final living moment, he is ultimately left with a haunting question. “Is the virus responsible, or my own darkness?"

I cry out daily to be seen, to be heard, to be held but my pleas remain silent among the living. I crack and peel under isolation's embrace, lonely and lost in negative space.

But this was merely a dream as the truth became clear within my waking reality. 

Two paths, two lives, two realities, both Withered Reflections of one another. 

Hope as i must, try as i might, i cannot escape my decay in either world.

Chapter 4: My Pain Is Yours Now

When the soul succumbs to the pain of the past and chooses to stay in the mortal world, the soul now exists to project its pain onto anyone that crosses the place where its world ended. The lingering pain is so powerful that walking this bridge for too long can lead the strongest minds to leap to their deaths. The trauma that binds to us in life is powerful & infectious but in the afterworld that pain becomes a wandering nightmare for all that encounter it.

On May 6th 2023, i traveled to North Bend Washington for a photoshoot. During this time i visited several locations where the iconic tv series "Twin Peaks" was filmed. This piece in particular was shot at Snoqualmie falls. It was such a powerful experience because despite being a a David Lynch fan i'd never seen Twin Peaks at the time of this shoot. My connection to this shot and many other shots that day felt unbiased and natural but like many before me i was drawn to the places lynch and many others were. This shoot while simplistic in nature was invigorating and deeply inspiring. This piece is an animated variant of the original photograph as well as my first attempt at a still motion photo.

The Woman who hid her face from The World.

A modern day folktale of a woman that was branded a witch & sentenced to death for her beauty, she escaped her fate and roamed the earth in pursuit of isolation, never wanting anyone to look upon her face again. It is said that she placed a curse on herself, a curse that would kill anyone who would dare to look upon her face.

The story of a woman named Emily Vause obsessed with her own beauty, she would stare at herself in the mirror (a family heirloom) for hours on end wishing that her beauty remain permanent until she became trapped inside of the mirror, a mirror that steals a part of your soul each time you gaze upon it until eventually you become apart of it.

Now permanently confined to the mirror as a living photograph unable to speak, move, or age. Forever starving, forever in agony and passed down through the decades. It is said that the longer you gaze upon the mirror, the more you begin to feel as she feels, insatiable hunger, unbearable pain from a rigid neck and the possession like desire to tear the flesh away from any part of the body with perceived imperfections.

Gaze at her long enough and the curse will be lifted for all afflicted and the seer shall take her place and be imprisoned for eternity.

Provenance OnChain has often been about displaying our best work but i wanted to take this opportunity to add a different way to perceive my body of work using this photograph. A reminder to myself & others on the same path of how transformative creativity can be if you commit yourself to it.
