When I'm Blue

You will never make it  
You bring shame to your family 
You are worthless  
You are pathetic  
You are a burden  
You are not a real artist  
Give up 

For years, these thoughts plagued my mind. They pulled me into a miserable existence and controlled every fibre of my being. I wasted so much time buried in misery because I didn’t know how to be anything else.

Every damn day, for years on end, looking at life through a dark mirror. 
And yet, after all that, all the self-loathing and suffering, 

I’m still here.

Pushing Through The Voices of Doubt

My shadow's shedding skin  
I've been picking scabs again  
I'm down, digging through  
My old muscles, looking for a clue

I’ve been wallowing in my own chaotic and insecure delusions  
I’ve come to terms with myself  
Accepting my mistakes, regrets and wasted opportunities  
Clearing out what could’ve been

I listen to my muscle memory  
Contemplate what I’ve been clinging to  
I choose to live and grow  
To learn, love and let go  
And master what it takes to step through

I’ve been looking for a word to guide me in  
I wanna feel the changes coming down  
I wanna know what I've been hiding

Dark Depths of My Mind

I am calm and collected.  
The rhythm of my breath controls the flames.

I am free from rage and anxiety. I do not react; I live above my fears. I move with wisdom and kindness, removing all hate from my heart.

Yet while calm, I stand unshaken and ready to battle.

Deep exhales; breathe in and out as time lays still.

I am one with the fire.

One With The Fire

I am reborn through the flame.  
My fire burns brighter than a dying star.

Possessed by this fever, I seek revenge, hunting those who refused to see the vision. Consequences mean nothing to me; I embrace the struggle.

Anxiety holds no place in my heart, for I am without fear, blazing with rage.

I am ready to take over the world.
