In the heart of Hueyzacatlán, the cultural capital of Chiapas, an old and tall building stands. For this was the principal entrance to the lively city, now an ode to its former glory.  Mudejar walls, beautiful craftsmanship and awe are all that remain.

Inspired by the Chromie Squiggle, this artwork incorporates a pattern found in Tsotsil textiles, a cultural heritage of the Tsotsil people from the Chiapas Highlands. The Tsotsil are descendants of the Maya who once inhabited this region.

The squiggle pattern was generated using the Random Squiggle Generator, with 'Chiapas' as the input word. In Mexico, people from this southern state are often nicknamed 'Chiapas' when they move to other parts of the country.

This version was redeemable by burning one original "The Tsotsil Squiggle".

This NFT was created to thank all who got "The Fractal Mosaic" during MOCA (Museum of Crypto Art) Fundraiser during 2023. 

In short, it's the successor in this series. A reminder of what life has brought since then: new opportunities.

"Amidst the machinations of men, a set of rules. Guidelines and blueprints for the world around us. Is the natural artificial?"

The Fractal Composition

Hidden from the world and lost to time, reclaimed by nature. An old place of worship, secluded in the middle of the woods, just in the outskirts of Ciudad Real. Thought to be used by the Dominican Order as a place for praying, it soon faded from the records. Nowadays, the green has taken over the structure; engulfing the already decaying carcass of what it once represented.

The Lost Chapel

MR RiRo's contribution for Tzompantli 2023, a collaborative piece with more than 50 cryptoartists. A Tzompantli is an Aztec tradition where a rack of skulls where laid together, like an altar. This modern take is our own version of it. I'm filled with excitement to be a part of such an awesome community of people, each putting their own love and dedication to it. Together, the Tzompantli is formed. Individually, the skulls are a manifestation of our own personal distinctions. A toast so that more project like this can be born, and if such is the case, we hope to set a trend for the future.
