Early morning on the mysterious island of Bali with beautiful undines, unafraid of anything. Everything that could have gone wrong on this photoshoot did, but with their free-spirited and courageous vibe, everything turned out more than great.

Bali, 6am. I wake up, check the clock, and realize I should already be on the beach with the whole team. I missed the alarm because I had meetings until 3am… fuck… I jump on my bike, racing like I’m immortal. Arriving at the location, I see the beach is flooded. We misread the high and low water calendar. Where’s the third model? Sick?! Jesus Christ… everything that could go wrong with this photoshoot has gone wrong. Two models, an assistant, a videographer, and I all hop on bikes to find a new location. The sun is blazing. Two attempts, both failed. Models upset, the whole team upset. I’m on the verge of tears. My assistant looks at me calmly and says: we need to do this. Me, gathering all my strength: OK, team, we have two options. We can either quit and go home, or go back to the original location, improvise, and see what we can create. We choose the second option. Thank God… this is how one of my best series was born. The moral: don’t give up, even when everything seems to go wrong at first.

I had no idea how much pain and conditioning I had buried within myself. Through therapy, I am slowly but surely surfacing into my consciousness.
