Inspiration for 'Ｐｌａｓｔｉｃ　Ｌｏｖｅ' comes from my love of early Japanese anime and the song Plastic Love by Mariya Takeuchi. I wanted to create something that would capture the feeling of the song, as well as the colors and aesthetic of early anime. The character's pose and stance comes from the original artwork for the song, which I felt matched perfectly the carefree and nostalgic feel of the track. 
The colors in the piece are meant to be soft and nostalgic, with a limited palette that evokes the feel of early anime. I used a limited color palette to create a cohesive and nostalgic feel throughout the piece. The colors were chosen to represent the soft, dreamlike feeling of the song. 

This is the first piece to my 'Ｖａｎｉｔｙ' series, a project dedicated to reflecting on my love of nostalgia, and the need to do what I love.

Does the machine dream, does it act upon itself to create artwork on its own? No, the machine does not dream, as it is up to the artist, to give the machine something to dream about. 

We act as guides, using our life experiences, our emotions to weave the machine, a fabric of our inner reality. The machine is but a tool for the human mind, an extension of the artist. 

A tool without someone to utilize it, is but no use on its own. A paintbrush on it's own has no intent to paint a masterpiece. 

If a machine body were to house the brain of a human, would what they create not be considered art? Or would it be the work of a machine, with human input? 

The machine is still driven by the consciousness of the creator, there are still emotions behind the work, intent, a vision. There is still a human behind the artwork, and that can be anyone. Anyone can pick up this tool, and utilize it. The amount of ways Ai can be used is nearly limitless. 

The only limit is the creator, from working with it to tell stories, taking the images created, and painting over them. Adding your own personal touches, and humanizing what the machine has already created using your thoughts, and feelings. We are all but guides for the machine. 

The Machine does not dream, I dream for the Machine.

Believing that he alone possessed the intellect and vision necessary to create this utopian future, Mr. Roboto pushed the boundaries of science and ethics in his quest for progress. He experimented with cybernetic enhancements, genetic manipulation, and advanced AI, often disregarding the potential consequences of his actions.

In his pursuit of perfection, Mr. Roboto failed to recognize the dangers of his experiments. He became consumed by his own arrogance, refusing to listen to the warnings of those around him. His obsession led him to make reckless decisions, causing irreparable harm to both his creations and the world at large.



Hubris

A culmination of machine and creature, Mr. Roboto has turned creatures into machines. His experiments involved subjecting various creatures to a complex process that involved the use of advanced machinery and nanotechnology.

They had stripped away all traces of humanity, leaving only the most basic of biological components. The rest was replaced by computer chips and machine parts, creating a being that was more machine than man.

The only human part left was the vocal cords, which allowed the machine to communicate with its human creators. But even that was modified, enhanced with advanced algorithms that made the machine's speech sound more natural than any human could ever achieve. 

As they continued to work with the machine, the scientists couldn't shake the feeling that they were dabbling in forces beyond their understanding. They had created a being that was part machine, part human, and perhaps even something more. They wondered if they had unintentionally opened a gateway to another realm, and if they were playing with fire that they couldn't control.

Parallels

A manifestation of inner calmness of a workspace.

The piece of work itself is inspired by my earlier works such as Snow Glow and Convenience, both of which were hallmarks in my exploration  into the idea of Liminal Spaces. 

For me, my dream artist studio is a setting with an atmosphere that can further inspire my craft as well as being surrounded by statues and older works of my art that represent past ideals.

Magazines have always been a profound memory for me, filled with moments of being left to explore their pages while my mom shopped for groceries. I was drawn to certain magazines by their captivating covers and the intriguing content they promised. 

Each cover in this collection references an event, a moment, or even a future possibility. I've created eight different magazine syndications, each with its own unique theme and stylization. From travel and sci-fi to gaming and beyond, this series presents a cohesive selection for viewers to explore and enjoy, evoking the nostalgia and excitement of discovering new worlds within the depths of magazine pages.

A collection of artwork exploring the concept of windows being portals, presenting glimpses into various realities. As observers, we often find ourselves incapable of altering circumstances or participating in them. Inspired by my love of film, and how it can make us feel as if we are part of another world, another place in time. Whether it be close to our reality or far from it. The window acts as a boundary, confining us to the role of mere spectators, whether our reaction is one of dread or fascination.
