Then I added gold powder which has been successfully absorbed by the blue paint. A rare moment where randomness and physics meet each others to make something beautiful

STEEL 01

This paper performance was made in collaboration with the model Maria Kinosian.

This work represent my past-present-future feelings of the November 2024 Bali Art Residency. 

Past - the scene I’ve built on the portrait to make the performance. An action of transposing my lived experiences.

Present - A rare moment captured in video where all the calculated actions collide with the randomness of the liquid’s path, imitating life’s ebb and flow.

Future - The relic. A physical piece transferred from place to place, and hand to hand into the UNFOUND…

This represent the inside & outside part of the subject. One is what she thinks and the other one is how she looks. The blue liquid has an unpredictable path, as the feelings we have I guess.

SEEING THE TRUTH

"Machine & Feelings" is a paper performance with fashion and nature visuals taken from second hand books. I added a rotating servo motor with a random movement program under the triangle visual, a slate piece to hide the face, then add gold powder which has been successfully absorbed by the blue paint. I wanted to create a contrast between robotics & organic actions. A rare moment where randomness and physics meet each others to make something beautiful

MACHINE & FEELINGS
