Fancy Thieves explores the idea of thievery in art. What is stealing? It’s my belief that all great artists are led in some capacity by everything we’ve ever absorbed. Great art doesn’t exist without inspiration. To get this point across I want to borrow what I think is the most iconic and recognizable style in the crypto art world, XCOPY’s. This piece is homage the legend. 

I look at the Deville Crime Family as fancy thieves as well. High class criminals in fancy suits. In Fancy Thieves they’re depicted checking out the priceless piece of art they stole in the trunk of a car.

Pariahs explores what is maybe the biggest question in the Evil In Colour series: “Are they devils because they’re evil, or evil because they’re devils?”. 

The Devilles are seen as outcasts by the rest of society. The very fact that they are devils may have led to their pariah status. With this being the case, what other choice do they have other than assuming that role?

I used to pretend to be my own characters in that world and draw outfits attached to them. This is a tribute to that time and an extension of the 'Joy & Wonder' Series.

The Space Boy mini-series is the first installment of the Wonder half of the ‘Joy & Wonder’ series. The ‘Joy’ half and the ‘Wonder’ half each have their own distinct feel.



The ‘Joy’ portion of the series is inspired by nostalgic feelings and bringing more black joy in art. I want these pieces to heal and make people feel good instantly just by looking at them.



The ‘Wonder’ pieces are inspired by children’s imaginations being so vast and uncorrupted like ours are. Going through life, we get told things aren’t possible and we then, lose our flame. But children often think anything is possible. I want to explore my inner child and everyone else’s along the way and find that flame again.



The Space Boy series embodies the meaning behind the ‘Wonder’ side. Anything is possible through imagination. 




‘Space Boy: Liftoff!’ is the part of the story where we start to truly believe. It’s where our dreams start to blend into our reality. We go places we’ve never been and see things we never thought we’d see.

BEDLAM is the first scene of this kind in the Good & Evil series. The stories in this series usually take place on or above the shoulders of a protagonist but this time there is no kid at a crossroads to be seen. There is just evil, and good trying its hardest to stop the bedlam. 

With this piece I wanted to introduce the concept of these characters existing outside of being decision influencers. They have their own history with one another and live their own lives.

Redeye Magazine is inspired by the Japanese fashion magazine ‘Popeye’. This piece emulates the type of magazine covers that inspired my creativity early on.

This mini-series introduces Justice Jones, my character Terry’s favorite superhero. The ideation of this hero was inspired by an issue I’ve since I was young. There weren’t a lot of black superheroes to look up to. The ones we had were seldom the main heroes of their groups or universes. Justice Jones is THE hero. 

‘The Virtuous Justice Jones’ was made as a homage to a painting I love by Indonesian artist Nyoman Masriadi. I was captivated by how the comically massive cape drew my eyes in and I wanted to see my hero in a similar light. With the angle and pose i wanted Justice to exude power and strength in an almost otherworldly way.

Good & Evil is an ongoing series that plays with different angel and devil tropes while adding my own iconography to these stories. In this series I have certain angel or devil designs that I like to repeat. This devil’s name is Damon and he’s usually opposite an angel named Evan. In this piece, Damon is a king on a throne that resembles a grave. Like many Good & Evil pieces, I wanted the background to feel desolate and liminal to feel like a version of purgatory.

Gone Fishing is the third installment of the ‘Good & Evil’ series. This series plays with the “angel and devil on a shoulder” trope. The aim is to add my own iconography to the mythos with these stories. 



With ‘Gone Fishing’, I wanted to play on the name from different angles. “Gone Fishing” is an idiom that is used to describe someone who isn’t aware of what’s going on in their surroundings. That’s represented by the boy in the middle. The spot on the shoulder where the angel usually stands is occupied by a “Gone Fishing” sign while the devil in the shoulder has literally gone fishing.
