It also stems from the artist's passion for science fiction creatures and the entire genre of creating imagined races and cultures. Arres brings out the darker side of his style to create this collection with his own monsters, creating his first panoply of characters. In them we can see all the imagination and expressiveness of his style, all combined in a magical game that leaves us with a unique and bestial collection!

Nine factions populate the virtual space. While Utopians develop the main net, the others work on their nodes building an economy system over the secondary chains.
Each station is focusing on one activity but there’s some dangers out there: Scammers and Hackers trying to survive doing obscure things.
There are also some drafts and blueprints of stations waiting for a faction to buy and build them. Who knows what its final purpose will be.

This project plays with procedural architectonic structures. I’m using a sci-fi style to present a virtual world populated by space station-like structures.

Imagine a world where technology not only advances mechanically, but also adapts and changes in response to its environment. 

In this view, machines could evolve into a variety of forms, from biological and organic to architectural and industrial, each with its own unique capabilities and characteristics.

The UMK algorithm could be thought of as a life form that has evolved from a seed. Its DNA defines the way in which it grows and develops.

**:: Motivation ::**

UMK expands my previous explorations of the interaction between humans and technology. 

Previously, In the "Defrag Trilogy" (link in the website), I narrate a tale spanning three chapters, exploring the emotions we encounter as we mature amidst a technologically world. The conclusion: technology emerges victorious every time.

This time, I delve into the idea of a world where human intervention is not necessary, showcasing a hypothetical scenario where machines operate and evolve independently. What would self-evolving technology look like?

**:: Aesthetics ::**

As a devout admirer of Manga and graphic novels, the style of the artwork is centered around creating a hand-drawn, captivating one-page masterpiece. 

With UMK, I embark on a journey of maximalist illustration. A path that pushes the boundaries of my previous creations to achieve  figurative pieces that are both visually stunning and unpredictably intriguing.
 
This maximalist approach is designed to evoke a sense of wonder and exploration. The intricate use of textures and interlocking geometries invites the viewer to dive into the artwork and be entranced by the details and nuances. 

**:: Animation ::**

Animation is crafted to captivate and hold the viewer's attention. Sit back and savor the mesmerizing construction mechanics and the gentle flow of the subtle elements in the background.

**:: Final words ::**

In UMK there is a touch of the clean and dreamlike drawing of Jean Giraud (Moebius), the intricate technological structures of Katsuhiro Otomo, or the biomechanical orgies of H.R. Giger. These are some examples of artists who have left a lasting impression on me and whose works continue to shape my aesthetic sensibility.

Art lies within the code itself. When we view the outcome on the screen, we are witnessing the crystallization of the algorithm at a specific moment, under certain conditions. The code is immutable and the results are mere coincidence.

***Renaissance*** invites you to think about the process of growing back or regenerating after a period of loss or damage. It suggests the idea of new growth and renewal that is fueled by the energy released during the period of change.

We see this in the world today. Abandoned cities after a catastrophe where nature claims the territory invading buildings and cracking structures. Or in a more intimate way, the energy that drives us to recover and rebuild after a loss.

Renaissance always propels life forward, overcoming destruction. Without destruction, there is no room for new life.

**Motivation**
It’s all about two main concepts: Energy and transformation.

The idea that life prevails even after the worst catastrophes made me imagine a scenario where a new form of life could emerge over the ruins and chaos, fueled by an enigmatic source of energy.

The science fiction lover in me began to imagine an alien world where strange pseudo-organic forms started to emerge from the remnants of an abandoned structure, pushed forward by some mysterious energy source.

On the other hand the romantic guy in me thinks of it as a regeneration period after a loss fueled by energy and motivation. A chaotic period full of emotions and encountered feelings.

**Aesthetics**
Renaissance is a collection where experimentation with light and movement has guided the creative process. An exploration of a visual territory where light and composition serve the initial concept: Energy and transformation.

A convoluted system of pseudo-organic forms emerging over a more rigid and artificial structure represents the transformation, or the duality of destruction and life.

Saturated colors, flash lights, and high contrast are used to illustrate the concept of energy driving and feeding the whole system.

A composition where the strength lies in the light and the movement, enhances the idea of a world that is alive and constantly changing and regenerating.

Through the creation of a pseudo-abstract work, the viewer is invited to envision various scenarios where transformation takes place: Science-fiction universes, unconventional architectural forms, or even fantastical botanical landscapes.

**Animation**
The animation has been added to enhance the rendering process of the final piece. It adds context to the work by presenting the transformation process in two phases: the creation of a chaotic state that gradually becomes organized and culminates in a final explosion of light and color to celebrate the emergence of a new life.

**Non deterministic variations**
In this project, the possibility for the viewer to interact with the artwork and generate non-deterministic variations is added.

While the initial output is always the same, double-clicking or pressing 'R' reconstructs the piece by randomly modifying certain aspects of how the process of emergence occurs. 

This offers an opportunity to explore the algorithm within the scope of the minted piece, engaging the audience in the process of discovery and experimentation.

I'm pleased to share with the viewer the feeling of exploration and discovery that artists experience when creating our collections.

**Final words**
The title 'Renaissance' means regeneration or being born again, but it also connects us with a period in history where there was a renewed interest in art and a burst of creativity. In a way,  we are experiencing a second renaissance, this time focused on digital art.

This collection aims to awaken the curiosity and imagination of the viewer, making them wonder: What is happening here? and hopefully communicate a positive message: There’s a new life when you find the energy and motivation.

By adding non-deterministic variations, the viewer is encouraged to interact and better appreciate the beauty of the created artwork, making them part of the creation process.

Here & Now displays a procedurally generated slideshow in real time on your device.

Here & now invites us to reflect on the moment in which we live. Each image is unique and will not be repeated.

Depending on the time zone of the place (here) and the moment (now) the viewer is in, some features may change.

The sequence of images is not completely random. Each new image is generated by modifying the previous one and sows the seed for the next one. Like the passage of time, the past will not happen again but it influences the present, which in turn conditions future events.

Snakeish! explores the realm of minimalistic abstraction.

The algorithm simulates a group of snakes attempting to navigate a grid, reminiscent of the classic Nokia snake game. When all the snakes become trapped, they transform into bold, vibrant lines.

The aesthetic leans towards minimalism, featuring strong color palettes and subtle texturing surrounding the snakes. The artwork is designed to be visually appealing in both large and small sizes.

This collection serves as a special gift for 'Summer Party' collectors, for many of them this will be their inaugural experience with a generative collection.
