Aurelius Moonglow and his familiar, the great moth, Lumina reach the edge of a cliff overlooking the vast ocean. They gaze upon the shimmering waters, waiting for a sign of Thalassor, the Leviathan of the Sea's presence.

"Fear not Lumina, my faithful companion. Legends speak of the sea dragon's benevolence and its deep connection to the balance of our world.  The dark force that looms over our land grows stronger with every passing moment. We must convince the dragon to join us in our fight against this impending doom."

As the wizard speaks, a colossal head emerges from the water, its eyes gleaming with ancient wisdom and power. The sea dragon's voice booms like the crashing of waves.

"Mortal beings, why have you disturbed the tranquility of my domain? Speak quickly, for your intrusion tests my patience..."

Etherstride the Ancient

In this piece I aim to capture the essence of places that seem to cross over into the surreal. By using a combination of realistic and surrealistic elements, I seek to create a dream-like atmosphere that blurs the line between reality and imagination.

My inspiration for this piece comes from my fascination with the way that certain places can evoke a sense of otherworldliness and strangeness. Whether it be abandoned buildings, overgrown forests, or desolate landscapes, these places have a way of stirring the imagination and inviting us to explore their mysteries.

Through my artwork, I aim to capture the essence of these surreal locations and bring them to life in a way that is both mildly unsettling and beautiful. By using a combination of muted and vibrant colors, intricate details, and unexpected elements, I seek to create a visual experience that is both disorienting and captivating.

By embracing the surreal and the fantastical, we can begin to see the world in a new light and discover the hidden beauty and meaning that lies beneath the surface.

The Last Mermaid

A period of stasis can be described as a period of inactivity.  Recently in my creative journey I encountered a bit of a block in terms of communicating my ideas onto the canvas/screen.  

This piece represents the existence of many ideas but feeling like I needed a fresh vehicle to show them in my art.  In a sense they were there but locked up or dormant.  This in turn actually became an idea all on it's own and I think has given me the spark to unleash the rest.  It's funny how creativity can work like this sometimes.

Within this piece I wanted to create a sense of suspended time and an almost meditative state along with the jumbled abstract forms and flowing shapes to represent the ideas and thoughts that are loaded and ready to go.  This state of mind has almost overtaken the subject with the organic forms growing over the face and ready to engulf everything.

I broke my finger towards the end of making this piece so I hid my x-ray in here somewhere.  See if you can find it!

Hippocampus

Within my work I often depict animals that can shift between worlds or other dimensions so you can imagine my joy when I discovered that Valkyries are often depicted as swans due to their deep connections to transformation, fate, and battle in Norse mythology. This imagery stems from ancient beliefs that valkyries were shape shifters who could take on the form of birds, particularly swans, to move between realms unseen. These warrior women were not only messengers of death but also symbols of transcendence, gracefully guiding fallen warriors to the afterlife.
