"Orbium Coelestium" - a term derived from Latin for "Celestial Spheres" is a generative art collection inspired by the groundbreaking heliocentric model proposed by Nicolaus Copernicus in 1543. This collection encapsulates the profound cognitive shift humanity experienced with the realization that the Sun, not the Earth, is the center of the solar system, fundamentally altering our understanding of the universe as a whole.

Each piece generated by the code which I call "an observation" showcases a potential star system combined of 6 traits and a unique cross sections color palette. The traits showcase the type of the central star, the number of planets orbiting the star, the quantum wavefunction field of the observed system, the star system's stellar spectroscopy, and the observed star system distance from Earth. Those traits, when overlaid and arranged by the code, create unique color transformations at the points of intersection on the canvas to give each observation its own distinct ambiance and visual appeal.

The star type the script is observing can be a Neutron or Pulsar and each star system can contain up to 6 orbiting planets. The system's stellar spectroscopy picks up one of 18 different system chemical signatures (Argon, Calcium, Carbon, Chlorine, Copper, Dichromate, Helium, Hydrogen, Iridium, Lithium, Neptunium, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Promethium, Radium, Titanium, Xenon) and assigns it to the observation background color.

Each observation is also taking into account that our universe is multidimensional at the quantum level and the wavefunction field provides the probabilities of finding particles in various states or positions. Incorporating this factor into the code output using various sizes and types of rectangles, the quantum wavefunction field becomes a trait that influences the visual representation of the artworks. This trait is categorized into five dimensions (1D, 2D, 3D, 4D, and 5D), each representing a level of complexity and density in the overall shapes within the artwork

Our last trait, Distance from Earth represented in parsecs - a unit of distance used in astronomy, equivalent to about 3.26 light-years. It's a measure of the distance to an astronomical object, calculated based on the parallax angle. The distance from Earth value significantly influences the visual representation of the artworks. This trait mimics the astronomical concept of looking further back in time as we observe objects farther away in space resulting in extra graininess of the artwork based on distance. At 1 parsec the canvas is very clear and sharp while at the other end of the scale at 20 Persacs, the artwork is grainy and extremely dense capturing the essence of observing the universe at different points in distance/time from Earth.

The last element in the code that enhances the visual output and uniqueness of each observation is the color transformations occurring at the points of intersection on the canvas using a math-based approach to color theory to pick up interesting and contrasting colors. This feature is not directly linked to any specific trait, such as distance or wavefunction, but rather acts as an independent variable adding an extra layer of complexity and appeal to the artwork as a whole. This color intersection could be thought of as a kind of "quantum interference," where different elements coming together create new patterns and hues, much like how light waves interfere with each other to produce new colors.

The final artwork minted at 4096 x 4096 pixels and will use the mint transaction hash from the blockchain to seed the final randomness to the script at the time of minting.

A little extra personal note: As I promised to myself after Vera Molnár passing, I will include her essence whenever I can into my code as a personal gratitude to her contribution to the gen art world as a whole and for my own gen art journey. If you mint a close distance observation of 1 Parsec or sometimes even at 5 Parsecs you might notice it within the background stellar spectroscopy pattern when viewed on large screens.

Deca Art Tribute Piece.

Been on Deca for about 6 months now and wanted to mark this occasion with a special Geometrica piece. This piece will be the genesis mint on the platform and a start of a special journey I plan to align with any new update and upgrade the platform will evolve into.

Geometrica - Deca Borg

A research lab located on a remote space station far in the constellation of Scorpius, orbiting Antares, a massive red dwarf star 550 light-years from Earth, took a giant leap in the development of the Gateway forcefield technology which allows ships travel faster than the speed of light by forming a miniature wormhole through space and time taking the ship into unimaginable distances at a blink of an eye.

The lab researched a mysterious algorithm found carved on rocks and artifacts of the first alien race found at the edge of the constellation of Ophiuchus. By applying the algorithm to the basic mechanism of the Gateway engine, a portal was opened, but instead of ending at a certain distance, it seem to be ending in a new dimension of reality, parallel to our own.

As we exit the second week of February 2023, the talk is all about the massive growth of Bitcoin Ordinals. Like it or hate it, fear it or embrace it - whatever you do, the fact is - it's here to stay and the future looks quite bright for those who learn the tech and carefully dip their feet into it.

What are Ordinals?

Ordinals is a new protocol deployed on Bitcoin, enables non-fungible tokens to be appended to Bitcoin transactions, effectively bringing NFTs to the most prominent crypto network by market capitalization. Launched in January 2023, the Ordinals project enables images and other types of data to be inscribed directly on satoshis (the smallest denominational units of Bitcoin - each is worth 0.00000001 BTC) on the Bitcoin blockchain without requiring a separate sidechain or token. JPEG images,  profile pictures, projects, and pretty much any digital art can now get inscribed on Bitcoin using the Ordinals protocol.

This particular piece is pointing to that unique moment in history when Vitalik Buterin launched and minted 72 million coins back in 2015 - we call it the ZERO POINT - which everything else evolved from until this moment.

I've been chasing the last of its kind for years, it felt like forever. Spinning through time and space, I jumped my ship from one sector of the galactic neighborhood I was exploring into another, following hints and rumors of the existence of the long-lost Bennu, the primordial bird which is considered until today as the progenitor of all birds in the known universe.

Last week, I received an encrypted message from planet Condor - a rogue planet in a fairly small solar system with four other planets about 6 light-years from Earth, orbiting Tau Ceti in the constellation Cetus. The message included specific SpaceTime coordinates for my ship navigator which will transfer me to Condor alternative universe where a female Bennu – the last of her kind – is said to be living.  

The risk for such coordinates is beyond imagination, you can end up inside the star itself when jumping into Alt – but I had no choice. It’s now or never. I punched in the coordinates and hit the initiation button. 

I personally hate Alt jumps – the disorientation takes weeks to pass. Climbing out the hatch of my ship, my head spins, I found myself in front of a massive nest made of an intricate weaving of grass and woods, and there – staring at me was the legendary Bennu. 

Tears in my eyes, my hands trembling, I grabbed my cam and hit the record button.  


Once Upon an Alternate Universe

By law and tradition, everyone trekking beyond the massive security barrier of Scavenger's outpost - carried a small pouch full of black pearls at all times. Sitting on the fence between folk stories and accurate history, the black pearls symbolize the peace and security period which ended an old, almost forgotten war between the colony and Scavenger’s native inhabitants.

The peace on Scavenger – a small terrestrial planet in a fairly large solar system orbiting Canopus, the brightest star in the southern constellation of Carina, 310 light-years from Earth – was kept for the past millennium carefully to avoid a repeat of the exhausting five hundred years war the colony was engaged in when the first transport ship arrived, and the colony established itself on the shores of a beautiful crystal clear lake surrounded by lush forest as long the eye can see.

The first attack on the colony came shortly after the habitats were built and the transport ship turned back on the long journey back to Earth. Startled by an ambush on a small survey team, the colony built a security fence with automatic heat detector pulse guns around the perimeter. It didn't take long before the war escalated and short on munition - the colony quickly built a massive 20 meters barrier keeping the natives away. Yet, nothing the colony did actually prevented the occasional attack on scouts leaving the colony or the various traps left all around the outpost perimeter. Five hundred years of endless attacks left the outpost exhausted and unable to sustain itself. With no end in sight, It seems the guerilla war tactics the natives wage was winning the war.

Legend says that a young girl somehow sneaked out of the colony and sat at the torched field across the colony barrier playing with a few black pearls her father pulled out of the lake while snorkeling and hunting fish. The black pearls were of no use to the colonists and were usually dumped or be given for kids to play with before cooking the oyster, mussels, or clams found in the lake. To their astonishment, the colonists saw a large tall figure come out of the surrounding forest, walk calmly toward the little girl, kneel down on its knees, and point at the black pearls. The girl, slightly surprised at the gesture, handed over the black pearls and ran back to the outpost. The figure turned back toward the forest to the sound of drumming and cheering coming out of the forest depth.  

Ten years passed since the incident and the natives have never been seen again until the same figure wearing an aged cobalt blue long gown with large winged-like sleeves came out of the forest again and stood quietly outside the habitat security barrier. The colonists were ready with a large pouch of black pearls which were handed to the figure in a somewhat ceremonial way while declaring with a clear voice and fervent conviction: No more of this. No more war.

The use of traditional or sacred geometries and symbols grounds each artwork in the tangible reality of human history and culture. These symbols serve as an anchor, providing a sense of stability and familiarity in the midst of the complex generative algorithm geometric designs. The juxtaposition of traditional symbols against the backdrop of the expansive, fully code-gen geometric designs creates a sense of both contrast and coherency. This creative process illustrates the confluence of old and new, analog and digital, human touch and AI
