Monterey Motel is a photograph that explores the idea and concept of how we define a neighborhood. Being one of Albuquerque's first motels along Route 66, this location has been the place of many stories and communities over the years. The idea of a neighborhood stems from a group of people forming a community, and what better was to challenge that idea than to view a location such as the Monterey Motel as an ever revolving neighborhood for decades now. 'Exit Unknown' is a piece that explores and portrays the loss of oneself within a relationship. Whether it's a friendship or romantic relationship, often times we sacrifice parts of ourselves amidst the chaos to become something we never intended to be. 

Sometimes without us knowing; sometimes by choice. 

I made this image during a session on 35mm film in New York City in December of 2020.

The streets were alive on that humid, almost miserable Sunday afternoon in Brooklyn. People on their daily commutes, walking their dogs, and as it was that day, enjoying the fact that their local fire hydrant was broken.

The lawn chairs were set up, the music was playing, and for the afternoon at least, people seemed content to just enjoy the day.

'Off Marcy' is a project study centered around the area of Williamsburg just off the Marcy Avenue exit on the JMZ train in Brooklyn, NY.

Inspired by the pulse of life surrounding the neighborhood, these images will serve as a testament to the stories that are currently being lived within the area.

What better way to spend a Summer afternoon in Brooklyn than to take a walk with the family?

'Homeland' is a photographic documentation of my foremost experience in the country of my ancestors. Having deep familial and cultural ties to the Frosinone region of Italy, I've felt a magnetic pull to Italy for as long as I can remember.

Composed of 20 black and white 35mm photographs, Homeland is an exploration of the cultural values, people, and places of Italy that have influenced my life from the sidelines for the last three decades through my immediate family values. From Milano, to Bolzano, Firenze, and more, the initial experience depicted through these images have ultimately become my first memories of home in a way, shaping how I move forward in learning about the culture my family has embodied for centuries even here in the United States.

In a sense, 'Homeland' as a series is both the beginning of a long relationship photographing my ancestral land, as well as a visual timestamp of the moments I began to connect the dots between my past, present, and future.
