Physical objects can hold memories, acting as tangible symbol that establish a direct connection to experiences. These external keepsakes possess the power to trigger and evoke emotions and intricate details that might otherwise slip away from our consciousness. However, photographs while preserving moments in time, also hold the potential to subtly alter our perception of past events.

Until the 1960s, the mineral water bottling plant was one of the largest in the country and a highly popular destination for excursions, attracting numerous people who enjoyed organized visits. However, with the passage of time, this place has transformed into an object of fascination for explorers of abandoned sites. The green glass bottles, which were once given as souvenirs during these trips, are now scattered throughout the area, creating a sensation of unexpected and abrupt abandonment. Some still keep these bottles as a remembrance, bearing the label that said, 'Mineral Water from a Radioactive Spring'.

Since 1920, the area has been transformed through afforestation led by the main promoter of this endeavor, introducing non-native species such as palm trees, radales, and oaks. Nowadays, these very species obscure the prominent façade of the former water bottling factory.

I lent my mom the old compact Olympus AF10 we used to capture birthdays and family gatherings. She shot in Ushuaia, the southernmost point of continental land, and returned the exposed roll. I then transferred it into my Vivitar V2000 and completed the exposures along Mar del Plata’s coastline, on the eastern edge. This wasn’t just an experiment in analog layering; it was a quiet act of transmission. A way of folding two timelines into one fragile material, holding the intimacy of shared tools, inherited memory, and the willingness to let go of control to see what we might discover, traveling in 35mm.
