the Real me

////Series of imaginary-glass-blown-public-art-installations, expressing my sense of joy of cycling in a state of flow in the city of New York///////
In August of 2022 I visited New York for the first time in my life. It was one of those cities I’ve dreamt to visit at least once in my lifetime. I’ve arrived there alone, ready to explore the Big Apple. First day I decided to walk as much as I can around central Manhattan. Took a walk through the beautiful High Line, MoMA, Times Square, Broadway, Central Park. I was overwhelmed by the huge cityscape, vibrant people, and the amount of traffic jams. It was too much for me, I didn’t understand why people would want to live in such an intense environment. The next day I decided to move around the city using the citi bike for rent and see how it will go and it drastically changed my experience of the city: all of the chaos and confusion of my walking experience have vanished. Suddenly everything around has turned into a symphony, the city experienced to me like the one big organism with millions of particles moving in a state of flow. In this state of flow I’ve been cycling all day long through Manhattan and Central Park all and then I went to Soho for the opening of the exhibition in SuperRare Gallery on the group show ‘Ghost in the Machine’ curated by the amazing Mika. The show was wonderful! Thanks for including my work into it, Mika! Pretty sure it was one of the best days of my life… Also, lately I’ve been really inspired by the glass blown installation art, especially with Dale Chihuli studio’s process of glassblowing. It has literally blown my mind. It turns out that glass artists are able to shape a mass of glass that has been softened by the heat into any kind of shape/form/color combinations, by blowing air into it through a tube. Such a beautiful and organic process. I love the way glass interacts with light, it always feels magical. By using various neural networks and digital overpainting I’ve created five series of glass art inspired artworks. The First series are these imaginary-glass-blown-public-art-installations, expressing my sense of joy of cycling in a state of flow with the city of New York.

Final visions མྠརསྣང 

8th audio-visual NFT from ΞSPACΞ album - a collaboration between Yura Miron and Stanislav Tolkachev. They both have started working separately on material included in this album since the beginning of global covid19 pandemic in 2020. In December of 2020 Yura started learning from Stanislav all things about making electronic music, and building his own studio and music setup with help of Stanislav. During this time they became friends and in the beginning of March 2021 they organically started collaborating on this album, merging their art and music into One and creating new music and visuals together. This album includes 30 audio-visual loops that will be minted on Yura’s favorite cryptoart platforms: on SuperRare, Hic et Nunc, KnownOrigin, Foundation, MakersPlace and Rarible during the minting marathon starting on June 21st and ending on July 30, 2021. This album covers a wide range of topics related to outer space exploration and the artist's inner reflection on what’s being discovered there. Selected tracks from this ΞSPACΞ are scheduled for vinyl release on Muscut label in 2022. During minting of ΞSPACΞ Yura and Stanislav will perform live audio-visual improvisations every Thursday at 3 pm Kiev time that will be streamed on YouTube. The whole album will be exhibited in a gallery in Kiev in September 2021 as well as in Yura Miron’s gallery in CryptoVoxels after all of NFTs will be released.

This series is my visual love letter to New York: its architecture, parks, galleries, streets, restaurants, its people and the vibe of the city.

I visited NYC for the first time in the summer of 2022 for a group show at SuperRare Gallery that featured my work. I was amazed by the city and immediately fell in love with it. What a vibrant art community! Wow.For an artist like me, this is like a dream come true. I returned to NY once again after my first visit in a month and took many photos of the city for my art project of imaginary glass sculptures which I later released on SR. After returning to Ukraine a year ago, I constantly had flashbacks to NYC during the day and pleasant dreams at night about returning there. Someone said that there is a place you were born and there is a place you come, fall in love with and stay. 

I’m in Kyiv atm. Kyiv has been inspiring me for the first 31 years of my life and I was always happy to return to Kyiv from travels to other great foreign cities, but not this time after visiting New York. The war has radically changed the Kyiv city vibes making it more aggressive and depressive and no longer inspiring place to live and create art. I’m dreaming of returning to NYC. I can’t leave Ukraine right now, so I’ve created this series of ‘NYC Living rooms’ which gives me a warm feeling of being in my imaginary apartments, overlooking the city, while warm sunlight shines through the windows, listening to jazz music and enjoying the view at NY surrounded by my art collection hanging on the walls. The style of artworks was inspired by the Art Nouveau movement in art and design, by the views of Manhattan, sometimes: Central Park where I enjoyed riding my bike. When I was in NYC for the second time I’ve also cycled to Brooklyn and Queens, so maybe I’ll include those parts of the city in this series a little later. 

This series is my nostalgic escape from the harsh reality in Ukraine, which is only getting worse with time, and my longing for better times when in the future I will come to New York again and stay there for a while with my wife and kids.
