This PFP project was born from a core idea I was drawn into for many years. answering the question "what do I want my art to be about?" or "what ideas do I need to express in my art" . and my answer was "The contradictions and the contrasts". and mostly the contradiction I always found in beauty and perfection or better say in "KITSCH" 
"  kitsch is the absolute denial of shit, in both literal and figurative senses of the word; kitsch excludes everything from its purview which is essentially unacceptable in human existence." Milan Kundera writes .a kitsch can be many things , it can be a political idea, a video game , the idea of how our parents know everything or maybe a doll made specifically to look perfect. these kind of perfections shatter as we keep going on and this feeling, the feeling of a shattered kitsch is what I explore in my art and what I tried to put into this pfp project. these broken dolls come with an ironic dialogue to help you imagine their stories . This whole pfp is about the irony in shattered perfection. also they're kinda cute too ;) Enjoy!

This is a collection of 9 illustrations made for Moody Moussavi's album "Oryan".
when we first discussed the art style, Moody explained to me that his music has a touch of oriental melodies that would fit such visuals. All the lyrics of each song are excerpted from Baba Taher Oryan's poetry. I did not include the accurate poem Moody chose for each song but I managed to gather a few short poems of Baba Taher in English to reflect the atmosphere of the album. The concept of the album is about resistance towards "fate" and picturing it as an evil oppressor. even though there are mentions of faith and God in the poems, one notices a strong sense of absurdity in pain and suffering of life. the narrator (the poet/singer) is sometimes defeated by fate and the other times is rebelling against it. Love is mentioned in the poems as a means of both saving and adding to the narrator's misery. I took the liberty of picturing "love" as the woman who keeps saving the man by fighting the golden threads of fate and eventually tearing them apart. The woman somehow steals the narrative from the man and makes her own story in the album artworks.

Animation is the closest you can get to giving birth to a life

This piece is a special one for me. It is from a time when I was pursuing music along with visual arts. The audio of this artwork is originally the melody my friend , Siavash Shahmoradi composed and I took the liberty to record and remix it for this artwork. 
Music has always been an inseparable part of my creative process even though life got in the way of me following my passion in music.
