This photograph is the realization of a dream of mine. To explore the hillsides of the Tuscan back country & document the minimalistic beauty of it. 

I wanted to visit this region for almost 3 years & finally made it happen during the summer of 2020. A surreal feeling worth waiting for all these years.

This minimalistic image of cypress trees on top of a hill perfectly embodies the feeling of experiencing the 'Val d'Orcia'. It is hot. It is dry. It is vast. A paradise of 'less is more'.

THE CELL

Part of a series about abstract formations of sea foam.

While exploring the coastline of Lacanau in Nouvelle-Aquitaine (France), I observed and documented interesting liquid formations that were constantly being built up and destroyed again by the movement of water.

The resulting images showcase natures artistry and reveal a harmonious chaos. Tiny bubbles are woven together in unpredictable arrangements, forming intricate patterns and textures.

A delicate interplay of waves and wind, transforming sea foam into visual arts.

Part of a documentary series about Flysch & a study of color-shifting.

Flysch stone's defining feature is the alternating layers of different sediment types, reflecting shifts in environmental conditions. Erosion and exhumation eventually bring these intricate formations to the Earth's surface, showcasing a dynamic geological history of sedimentation, tectonic forces, and changing environments.

In a process of creative reinterpretation, the Flysch structures of Spain's northern coast undergo a transformation through experimental color-shifting techniques and are re-imagined as close-ups of red crab shells. As the once-subdued earthy tones take on a colorful vibrancy, reminiscent of the crimson hues and intricate textures found in the carapaces of red crabs, an unexpected unity emerges between land and sea.

Blurring the lines between terrestrial geology and the vibrant marine life that inhabits these coastal havens. A colorful metamorphosis.

Sempiternal 

It was 4AM when we got out of our sleeping bags. The sky was clear & the night was cold at an altitude of 2136m. Our goal: the Gran Cir with a height of 2592m. We put our headlamps on & started our adventure at the foot of the mountain where the via ferrata began. After a strenuous hour of 400m vertical climbing to the top with very little light, we were greeted by a mesmerizing sunrise & mountain layers as far as the eye could see.
