I find startrails particularly fascinating because the final result isn't a reflection of what your camera captures; you need to put your images through an intensive process to see the magic reveal itself. I like to think of it as an alternative reality we can only access through a series of digital manipulation tasks.

Night composite I made in the desert of New Mexico.

I walk alone

This composite piece was created in northern Norway in 2 different locations after many sleepless nights & days of driving around to find the perfect foreground. I had been wanting to visit Norway for years to go sea kayaking in fjords, but I ended up being blessed with perfect conditions to shoot northern lights for a few days, so I was able to capture spectacular auroras. 

When I shot the sky, I ended up sleeping in the rental car as I did not want to miss any opportunities to capture the incredible show I saw that night. The sky suddenly became very bright and an explosion of colours started dancing very fast above me. I had seen northern lights back home in Banff before, but never this intense. My entire body was aching after a few sleepless nights and car camping, but the photos I shot made it so worth it. I captured the foreground in Senja a week later at a spectacular location with jagged mountains that reminded me of Patagonia. This piece is probably my favourite to date for its beauty, but also for the amount of effort it took me to create it.

Have you ever found yourself trapped in a situation that was slowly killing your spirit and making you feel like you were completely worthless? Have you ever allowed others to completely destroy your self esteem to the point where you felt you had no value or talent? Have you ever allowed people to step all over your boundaries out of fear of losing them? Did you ever go out of your way to make sure others had what they needed while neglecting your own needs? Were you ever scared to make decisions for your inner peace at the risk of walking away from those you love? 

This surreal landscape composite piece is different from my previous ones on a creative level as I tried to step out of my comfort zone, which was also an important step in my healing process. It represents the moment I decided to chose ME and break free from relationships that no longer served me on my journey so I could find myself again.

I had been wanting to photograph lighting for years, but never had the opportunity until recently when fellow photographer and storm chasing wizard Justin Snead invited me to chase with him for a week. I created this composite image during our adventure through Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and Utah. Bolts were landing so close to us at some point, my hair went up because there was so much static in the air. This is definitely the most danger I've ever been in while shooting.

There is a certain beauty in the emptiness that surrounds us when we are alone. Even in isolation, freedom can be found. When we are forced to retreat from the world and find solace in our own company, we can contemplate the power and beauty of solitude. 

This image was captured the last time I went out to shoot in the Canadian rockies before moving away from the place I had called home for the past 6 years to embark on a new creative journey. This piece represents a willingness to let go of the past and embrace the unknown.

Solace

We often limit our own potential to expand our consciousness because of the barriers society forces us to create within our minds. Once we become aware that there’s a whole other universe to explore that might not entirely represent what we consider reality, we can set ourselves free to discover our true potential. Keeping an open mind and experimenting with different spiritual practices has allowed me to make enormous progress with inner growth, self awareness but also creativity over the years. 

I spent a few days staying up all night in northern Norway so I wouldn’t miss any opportunity to capture such mesmerizing northern lights. The foreground was shot on a physically challenging hike. While the view was gorgeous, I felt like it had a lot more potential, so I converted it into this dreamy aurora composite. I like to think I’m able to push myself on a physical, mental & creative level in order to create artwork that represents my vision because of the spiritual quest I embarked on over 10 years ago.

This is a composite imagine of a pano I shot at Floe lake in the Canadian rockies a while back.  To get there I had to hike 21km roundtrip and gain over 700m in elevation with a heavy backpack. I stayed a few days, but the conditions weren't that spectacular unfortunately. I didn't get much of a sunrise, so I turned this shot into a night composite. 

I always found it calming to be sitting alone in the dark in the wilderness, waiting to see the light. This is one of the only places where my soul can find some peace.

This is a composite shot taken at lake Magog in Mount Assiniboine provincial park, BC. I did the 30km hike to the lake with a heavy pack in one day, then pushed myself to catch sunrise the next morning so I could sit alone in the dark and disconnect my mind from my body.

I made drastic lifestyle changes a few years ago so I could spend more time in nature appreciating moments that mattered to me, like watching sunrises in the mountains. Living in a van for 4 years allowed me to never miss an opportunity to capture beauty most people don't get to see.   

I shot this breathtaking sunrise in Canmore 2 years ago at the beginning of larch season.  Fall in the rockies never disappoints!

Chasing light

A few years ago, I worked as a financial advisor and felt like I was not living the life that was meant for me. I moved into my self-converted van, headed west with my old cat and embarked on a mission to explore the wilderness alone to see how far I could push myself physically in an attempt to find inner peace. I completed my sea kayaking level II cert, bought my 1st camera and spent years exploring my passions.

Extreme physical activity combined with nature's soothing silence made a dramatic impact on my mental health, so I was finally able to crawl out of my shell and discover who I was meant to be. This is a composite image of 2 of my favorite shots. I took the photo of the kayak years ago at sunrise during a 44km kayak trip, and the milky way recently on Vancouver island. 

Life is a journey of exploration and inner growth. To me this image is a reminder that the possibilities are limitless when you take risks.

Some of the pieces will eventually be recreated with photography once the collection is sold out, allowing me to incorporate my fashion design and special effects makeup skills.

A silhouette of a woman walking through fog on a beach in Tofino. When I woke up that morning and saw the entire town of Tofino covered in fog, I almost slept in thinking I wouldn't be able to shoot anything interesting. I forced myself to go to the beach where I was able to capture some incredible silhouettes walking through the fog.

A photo of the northern lights I captured in Tromso, Norway. After tracking the data for days to find the best location and time to shoot, I drove an hour outside of town and stayed up all night to make sure I wouldn't miss my chance to photograph the best show I've seen during my trip to northern Norway. This is one of the few closeups I managed to capture as it was moving so fast.

Inspired by my own experiences of being misdiagnosed and wrongly medicated throughout my 20s, I aim to highlight the limitations of an inefficient and poorly designed medical system.

Throughout history, the mentally ill have faced mistreatment, torture and neglect. Previously socially accepted treatments are now considered outrageous, inhumane and absurd. Each piece represents a condition, paired with a ludicrous or ineffective treatment.

This is a 50 piece AI collection, I'll be dropping 10 pieces at a time. First set goes live on Dec 14th at 10am EST.


This piece celebrates the courage to traverse a path less defined, deviating from the well-worn trails to explore the wild terrain of unconventional living. It represents a rebellion against the scripted narratives of societal expectations, choosing authenticity over conformity. Together we've taken the scenic route, navigating through chaos to emerge on the other side with newfound strength and experiences that make the destination more meaningful.
