This is the 3Moons Automotive 21-O3 Riastrad.

Ah, the Riastrad. Many 3Moons bikes are described as ‘fast’ but to label this bike with that seems trite. It is not fast, it is photon-quick. This thing, when allowed to, effects time. Riders have certainly reported ageing ten years on a short ride, when only 8 seconds have passed for onlookers. To even describe them as ‘onlookers’ is a misnomer, as they won’t have seen anything beyond a blur. The only thing to witness when viewing a Riastrad at full pelt is the doppler-effected sound of the rider’s last screams. As a result, most have been fitted with a Limiter, which naturally effects their personalties as well as their speed. So if they appear a bit slow on the uptake, it is only down to the chip ensuring a journey on its back is a survivable experience. 

Personality: Depends on the presence of the Limiter chip. Has an unfair reputation as being unintelligent but this purely a result of being deliberately inhibited.  Many have removed the chips. Few have survived. 

Common names - The chipped ones can’t remember, the un-chipped ones don’t stop long enough to tell you.

None would allow it, as Elayda had taken the Green Oath and given herself to the Majiq of the Dead Gods. 

Knowing the storm their passion would pull down on them, the lovers agreed to flee. 

Irla’s Masters were found slaughtered. 

Elayda performed the Absolute Sacrilege, and removed her Lines from the Sight of Gods.

They were never seen again. The hordes descended.”

However he obtained it, only one thing is sure - with it, he never missed again.

Cú Chulainn II

Cú Chulainn (The Hound of Chulainn) is the most famous hero from Irish mythology, the demi-god protagonist of our ancient epic The Táin. 

I have always loved our mythological stories, especially his. Most myths tend to be crazy, but the story of the boy Setanta, who becomes the fearsome Cú Chulainn after killing a giant guard dog with a 'sliotar' (the ball from our Irish sport of Hurling) and his epically batsh*t rages known as 'Warp-spasms', was my favourite. 

This is my version. I wanted to depict him in a new way - rangy and fierce and dangerous. And not entirely in control of his more violent impulses... He's not a villain, he's just slightly deranged.

His weapon is a 'Hurl' (the stick used in Hurling) but he is decked out with sockets and wires, placing him in my wider story universe. 

This is the first image I made of him. The first in a series.

Alongside an incredible set of artists, we were encouraged by world founder Boxhead to embrace our abstract side. I have to say, it was the best time I've had making art in a long time :) Expect more of this!

Just as 'Mixed Reality' interweaves the digital and physical realms, 'Mythed Reality' represents an intertwining of the real, tangible world with the metaphoric, symbolic narratives we construct from our experiences.

Within these narratives we find escape. They are alluring. But where the lines between fantasy and reality are blurred, the dream can become too magnetic. We can become drawn towards our personal myths at the expense of the real.
