Rescuing a dog from a shelter

"Recursion" is 3 of 3 unique works from Primeval fall triptych.

The portrayed scene is a part in The Book of Genesis when Cain murders Abel committing the first murder. 

The work is a modern visual interpretation of the story drawn in the surreal and constructivist style merging the visual poetics of two artists. Cain is portrayed in the form  of a stone-like figure with horns on his head, and cow shadow on his weapon, indicating that this animal told him to kill his brother. Abel is depicted with the tamed body movements, with he terrified look on his disintegrating face which is evaporating to the sky and whispering the truth to the God. “Recursion”  tells a story of a never-ending circle of parent-child curse.

The waiting room was empty and no sound could be heard,
Whiteish felt like he was alone in the entire world.

Than a sexy nurse approached him with a mocking smile
and told him arrogantly “Sit down and wait awhile”.

After which she went for a nurses lunch break,
without giving a shit for his headache.

The head hurt so bad that he started to hallucinate a bit
seeing doctors waiting in the room as patients and similar shit.

Strange figures suddenly sat around in the room,
With sadness in their stand and faces made of gloom.

The temperature got him high like amphetamine,
and suddenly he sees things the way he has never seen.

The provocatively uniformed nurse which was more than hot,
made him realise the following cognitive thought:

“Here she is a health care worker and I am a dog with albinism,
but as soon as I get out of this building
we will both become actors in the society of consumerism.”

“This fewer must have made me pathetic and cynic”,
he concluded and merged in the environment of clinic
in the role of a patient in every sense,
among imaginary people unable to pay private treatment expense.

The portrayed scene is a part in The Book of Genesis when Adam and Eve are banished from the Garden of Eden after failing to resist to taste the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge. Adam and Eve were no longer naked and sinless, thus they are depicted in this image as embarrassed as they hide their private parts.

The work is a modern visual interpretation of the story drawn in the surreal and constructivist style merging the visual poetics of two artists.  The woman is portrayed in the form of giant vulva, covered with green leaf-like coat, while the man resembles the stone-like, abstract shape covering his genitalia with the plant trapped in a pot and deprived of freedom.

A man and a woman, carefree, sway in the arms of a third person. When she's up, he must be down, when she's down, he's up. Between these variations, the balance is equalized for a second, so that they are at the same height, looking at each other. This children's game is fun, but at the same time, a perpetual struggle of physical and mental dominance.

ARTIST BIO.

Veštica (1993) is a Serbian born artist, based in Milan, Italy. She obtained a Masters of Arts from Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade and Master of Science at Politecnico di Milano University in Italy. From 2012. she has been actively participating in more than 20 local and international group exhibitions and 3 solo shows. She is the winner of 10 awards in the fields of art, innovation and technology, of which the most standing out are “Award for the best Artistic Technological Innovation” 2017 and 1st place for the Data visualisation 2018. She is the winner of 5 Serbian and 4 Italian government scholarships. 

Vestica's style is often characterised as digital and traditional avant-garde with touches of surrealism and post-expressionism. Her works satirically examine the spectrum of social phenomena through imaginative narrative revealing its political, psychological, subversive and erotical context. She explores within formally divergent field of media, from physical painting to processing, confronting new technologies and traditional techniques questioning the position of art in technological society.

GÂTEAU D'AMOUR 2022 - ZAM

Zam’s portrait work often features celebrated cultural figures; more recently whole images are constructed from thousands of tiny individual digital pieces. This piece is part of his recent ‘Modern Girls, Modern Boys’ series which takes inspiration from happenstance collage such as the accumulation of street bill-posting.

Overlaid with clusters of sometimes thousands of millefiori-like fragments from popular culture, his work exemplifies his love of colour, pattern, texture and all things vintage. No potential material is safe; Zam even self-referentially raids his own back catalogue of work for inspiration. However the subjects remain discernible, the random detritus creates a mysterious and slightly disturbing effect.

ZAM is a multiple award-winning creative across Art, design, writing and social history research. With 30+ years of practice he is an early adopter of Crypto/NFT tech in the Australian Art industry; he moved exclusively to the Crypto Art space in 2020.

During the bombing, we slept at the end of the corridor, because it was the farthest point from windows. They were covered with brown tape in the shape of the letter X, to prevent the glass from scattering all over the apartment due to the detonation.

The TV was at the corridor beginning, closer to the windows. Mother was afraid to approach the video recorder to change the tape because shrapnel from the explosion could break through the window. So we just watched Bambi over and over again for 78 days.
