This artwork was initially minted in the first quarter of 2021 as an ERC-1155 token on the OpenSea Shared Storefront contract. After I got banned from OS (because of sanctions imposed on Iran), with the approval of the token holder, I minted the artwork on my contract 'Nedtzo' as an ERC-721 token and transferred it to the collector.

It's always the darkest before dawn. A very dark chapter of Iran’s history, a night of forced silence is interrupted by the brave and mighty lionesses and lions of Iran. Light will overcome darkness and fanaticism, and Persia/Iran like the legendary bird Simorgh of Shahnameh, will once again rise from her ashes and regain her rich beautiful heritage and culture.  
Despite centuries of invasions and foreign rule, Persia has always retained its own strong identity; a cultural elasticity that is at the heart of its identity. It has always been home to those who throughout history have fought for the idea of freedom and equality. They have been the first to introduce human rights in the most humane and equal political setting at the time.  
For centuries religious fanatics have tried to destroy our culture, race, language, literature and arts, music and poetry, science and philosophy, traditions, celebrations, and even our calendar. They tried to take our equal rights, freedom of speech, and freedom of religion to replace them with central brutal primitive government, prejudice, and slavery by the edge of a sword.  
Now for us, there is no going back to the superstitions of the distant past. We are shedding the dark history of the Islamic Republic tyranny from Iran to move ahead into the future. A bright future without any organized religion and oppressive force, to live in harmony and peace with one another, and to build upon our great cultures on Earth and evolve beyond...

Iran has a history of anti-government protest rallies and uprisings with violent responses by the Iranian authorities, like the killings of 1500 protesters in November 2019, or the violent crackdown on protests in Mahshahr, and the shot down of Ukrain Flight 752 by the regime. 

Besides the regime, this movement is aimed at poverty, and corruption in the economy, and the imprisonments of protesters with no access to their lawyers.

Those were very painful days for us. After 10 days of not having access to the internet while gov killed more than 1500 people in the protests and arresting 7500 more (some of them are still in jail with no access to any lawyer), almost every day on social media I'd see someone with a picture of their loved one on their chest asking for help and justice! 

With this work, I was trying to capture those feelings that we shared together and not let what they did to us be ever forgotten...
