As a Mexican-born, now U.S.-based graphic designer, my passion for surrealism and photography has its roots in my childhood. I fondly recall the captivating sights and scenes of my homeland, captured through my ever-present camera.
"El Tractor" is inspired by my hardworking grandpa. It captures a surreal scene of a man floating above a two-wheeled contraption, paying homage to his dedicated spirit and my memories of him. It's a cool tribute to an amazing man who inspires me with his relentless work ethic.
This collection is an exploration of my past, a nostalgic journey back to Mexico. Using AI, I'm able to create new photos, adding a surreal twist to my cherished memories. This isn't just art; it's a deeply personal reflection of my cultural roots. Step in, and experience the magic of surreal Mexico through my eyes.

El Tractor

A contest piece I entered for a Clair Silver contest. I did not win but I'm really happy on how this piece turned out. Its part of my exploration of geometry and abstract surreal art. The contest was about creating a piece that was a rebuttal to an anti AI statement. I wanted to show that not all AI art is the same and you can create intricate unique pieces that break from the mold of what AI art can be. I hope you enjoy it!

Passage to Perspective

I created this piece for an open call for works inspired by Salvador Dalí, particularly drawing inspiration from his involvement in the 1929 French silent short film "Un Chien Andalou," directed by Luis Buñuel. While my primary references and inspiration came from this film, you'll also discover subtle references to Dalí's other iconic works within my piece. I thought about listing them all, but I've decided to leave it to your keen eye to spot them. I also added a few of my own elements as well which I wanted to include in the piece.

This was a combination of Midjourney renders with a looooot of Photoshop generative fill and adjustments. I spent most of the time refining the details and making sure all the elements fit in. Luckily black and white is forgiving and allows me to edit things quite easily without having to worry about color matching.  

Unfortunately it was not selected for the open call but I loved working on it and didn't want it to get lost in the archives.

"El Vaquero", embodies this merger of reality and the surreal. A Mexican cowboy's image is transformed with a floating, detached horse head - a nod to the extraordinary within the commonplace.

El Vaquero

I wanted to experiment with capturing a daydream in a different, almost surreal form. In this piece I wanted to depict the disjointed nature of the mind as you daydream. It shows a headless man suspended between two towering structures in the clouds. Looped into the piece is an abstract floating head that appears and fades in and out of view repeatedly, sort of resembling the fragmented way we experience daydreams.  
Process:  
I spent days playing around with Midjourney trying to find the right style and feel for this piece. I initially started exploring my black and white photography style but it just didnt feel right. I then took a step back and played around with my surrealistic poster style that I'm crafting. 
Once I found the correct composition I took the piece to PIKALabs and converted the image to video. Once I had the right motion for the head and body I exported both videos, extracted each frame and upscaled. Once all my edits were made to the frames using photoshop I then stitched it all together with After Effects. 
I then started generating some AI music to go along with it as well as finding the right tone for the head changing shape. 
Overall I am really proud of this piece, it reflects a different side of my and I love how it turned out. Hope you like it :)

Nubes De Ensueño (Clouds of Dreams)

Garden of the Swan Knight is an AI painting generated using Midjourney. The first of the swans in Medieval Times. It depicts a swan wearing a knight's armor, standing proudly on a grassy hill, surrounded by flowers and trees. The sky is blue and cloudy, and a castle can be seen in the distance. The painting is stylized in a realistic manner, with careful attention to the details of the feathers, scales, and metal. The media type is oil on canvas. The art movement is Renaissance, and the technique is sfumato, which creates a soft transition between light and shadow.

I wanted to express the nobility and courage of the swan knight, who represents an ideal of chivalry and beauty. The swan knight is ready to face any challenge that may come his way.

"Swan Knight Rises" is a black and white Synthography piece featured in my "Swans of Time Collection." This collection explores an alternate reality where swans have evolved into a sophisticated civilization. Unlike the artist's previous piece, this one takes a more realistic approach to create a dramatic scene. I wanted to use black and white to enhances the atmosphere and to portray what appears to be a triumphant moment in the swan civilization's history...plus BW is my jam right now.

"Starlight Passage" is the first art piece for my Cosmic Geometry collection. I wanted to capture the idea of an astronaut without a helmet, standing at the door, looking into a glowing hallway surrounded by geometric shapes. As always, I used Midjourney + Photoshop to adjust some of the elements of the AI render.

"El Vicio" tells a story about losing friends and family to a harmful addiction. In this artwork, you see men having conversations with skeletons in a graveyard, surrounded by bottles of liquor. It makes you reflect on the devastating impact of addiction and how it can take loved ones away from us.
