I LOVE the magical vibe this photo gives off. The colors of the woods mixed with the light shades of Tiger’s beautiful coat makes for a stunning image which is still one of my favorites I’ve captured in 2022.

Fantasy Feline

Wolfie is a stunning and mighty feline force of the forest, and this photo is a perfect representation of that. She has a fighting spirit unlike any other cat, and has been through a lot for being so young. Her beautiful coat and striking golden eyes make her look like she's not of this world. She has a ton of heart, courage, and will to live. She proved that after battling an infection that lasted for over a month. I worked with her and gave her medicine, chicken, and supplements until she finally started feeling better. She's come so far, and I couldn't be more proud of her.

Woodland Spirit

Clyde is quite the adventurous, inquisitive, and fun loving cat. He's always watching something, whether it be a leaf falling from a tree or a fellow cat chasing a butterfly, he never gets bored too easily. I got this shot of him sneaking up on one of his brothers, needless to say his sibling got quite the surprise mere seconds after I snapped this one!

Feline Focus

Legolas was a very special cat. Born in the early spring of 2022, he was one of the kittens I raised alongside felines like Clyde, Muffin, and Scarlette. He was truly special, a long, thick, fluffy coat, and bright golden eyes, Legolas was stunning to put it lightly. He unfortunately got bit by something, I still don't know what, but he developed an infection that slowly paralyzed him. Antibiotics helped in the beginning. In fact he seemed to be totally recovered for awhile, until the infection seemingly came back after discontinuing the medication. 
He straight up couldn't move much at all on his own. I worked day and night to take care of his every need, as he couldn't operate his legs much at all. I did physical therapy with him, fed him, gave him water, helped him go to the bathroom, etc. Unfortunately it still wasn't enough. Some cats develop terminal illnesses that are very difficult to treat due to a variety of complications.

But I was fortunate enough to be there when he passed away. I was holding him in fact, in a soft white towel. He went peacefully. Watching him go through all of that was beyond painful. I cried for most of that evening, and felt so defeated afterwards. I take pride in ensuring my cats are all as healthy and in good spirits as much as possible, so when I go to these great lengths to get them through whatever they're dealing with, only for me to lose them, it can be absolutely crushing.

But I'm still thankful I got to spend so much time with him before he passed away. Looking after Legolas and tending to his every need taught me so many valuable lessons. He helped me cultivate an even greater amount of patience and because of him, I learned about lots of new supplements, medicine, etc. that I could use in the future for my other cats in need too. Going through all that certainly wasn't for nothing.

Above all else tho, I'm just glad he isn't in the state that he was when he was living. Being a young cat who can't run or walk, is no way to live. And I know he's back to his old self up in the Rainbow Bridge, playing and hanging out with all my other cats who've passed. I loved him dearly, and always will, I'll never forget everything I went through with him, but more importantly, how sweet, fun loving, and endearing he was.

Transcendence

One of my favorite shots of Big Boy, one of my favorite cats. Big Boy is a symbol of everything I love about caring for my cats. When he came to me, he was super emaciated, timid, and frightened of anything that'd move. But with lots of hard work on both my part and his, he's risen from the ashes and been reborn into a fierce feline with a fighter's spirit, and a lover's heart.

DAY NIGHT AND FELINES 

 I got these photos of JJ(first shot) and Tedders(second shot) during one of our many late morning walks in early fall. It was rainy, cold, and just overall, a bit nasty outside. I was getting ready to call it a day when these two started striking some fantastic poses as they always seem to do. I got the first two shots pretty early on during their lil modeling session but the last one happened right towards the tail end of when I was shooting with them. I was actually prepping to go back inside the house(for sure this time) when JJ, seemingly out of nowhere, walked up to Tedders and give her a lil kiss on the head. This was then followed by the two touching noses <3 this collage tells you all you need to know about the strong bond that my kitties share with one another. Unfortunately some people tend to think that animals are boring, dumb, and void of any personality or compassion at times. These photos are sheer proof that none of that is anywhere near true.

I Remember That Night

Echos of Light

The relationship between a mother cat and her kittens can be a beautiful one. But in the last eleven years of taking care of the my wild cats, never have I seen such a tight-knit bond between a mother and kitten such as this one.

Orangey Socks is a tabby who's been with me for almost ten years. She's been one of the sweetest cats I've had the privilege to take care of, and is without a doubt one of the strongest felines I've known as well. 
Any time a mother cat has come around here with kittens under her wing, in need of help, Orangey Socks has either outright adopted them, or helped to lighten the load that is looking after a litter of kittens. 

This past spring, she gave birth to only one kitten herself, right outside my bedroom window. 
Since then, I've had the opportunity to watch this beautiful maternal bond take shape and flourish into what it is today. 

This piece was created with the sole intention to represent that bond that this mother cat and kitten share. Everything you see was captured in camera, and then edited, layered, and brushed over in Photoshop.

As with all of my cat art, the ETH made from these editions goes back to caring care of the wild felines I look after. Helping me to pay for food, medicine, supplies, and shelter for my fuzzy friends.

In the past seven years, I've dealt with a myriad of health issues, both mental and physical. And being blessed enough to live in the woods, surrounded by nature, animals, and an insurmountable amount of serenity, has always been incredibly instrumental in my own personal healing process. Especially with the many cats by my side.

B & W CATS

One year ago, I came from Instagram to Twitter, in search of a better platform to share my photography. What I did not expect to find was the NFT space. Last September, I minted my genesis collection “Where the Wild Cats Are”, it was a series of 30+ photos of cats. But the cats in those photos weren’t any normal house kitties, they’re wild/stray felines who I care for in the woods of Ohio. I’ve taken care of them for 10 years now and I honestly never thought I’d be sharing that side of my life with the world. However, one year, and 1-2 sold out collections later, I’ve made enough ETH to take better care of my cats, buy my dream camera, and gain the confidence and skill I needed to become a better artist as a whole. I have so many things and people to thank the NFT space for. The artists I’ve befriended and been mentored by, the friends I’ve made, and the inspiration I’ve gotten which has helped me grow as an artist, all of these things have changed me for the better, tenfold. 

This piece is an example of how far I’ve come as a photographer and an artist overall. It features Clyde posing for me and looking as handsome as ever. He’s one of my favorite kitties to photograph and a new addition to the wild cat family who was born in the spring. He’s quickly growing up and turning into a beautiful and majestic boy. One of which I love  spending my mornings with when I take a photo walk with the rest of the cats.

Recurrence 

This is Romeo, a white pawed, long haired, orange kitty who has the cattitude and energy of two small children and one tiny dog combined. He is beyond affectionate, loving, and overwhelmingly cuddly. He was born over a year ago, and as soon as I saw his fluffy, adorable face, I knew I had to make him an inside cat. Since bringing him in last summer, I've watched him blossom into the beautiful tabby boy that he now is. 

This edition also marks TWO years since I joined the NFT space and began minting photographs of my cats. It's legitimately crazy to think that I've been a part of this incredible art scene for over two years now, yet... 70+ 1/1s, 200+ edition sales later, and I'm still here, and still sharing my cat art with the world.
