That is precisely the meaning that its authors - machadoxleao (Brazilian) and DJ Ride (Portuguese) - tried to represent behind this magnificent creation. For the full mp4 version, click here and make sure you turn on the audio to listen to "JAPAN 146 ROCKER".  “Hazel” is an alternative version of the “Big Brother” creation that catapulted machadoxleao to fame in the crypto art space. He sold “Big Brother” for 2 Eths (3,668$) in March 2021.      “I can say that the process behind “Big Brother” was rather random. I had a blank mind and I was thinking about nothing. Although there is a big message behind this piece, I was very surprised by the explosion this NFT generated. It gave me a career…” After the success of “Big Brother,” machadoxleao wanted to keep the series alive. But he wanted to do something a little bit different; he wanted to put an extra layer of context. That’s when DJ Ride came in. They connected via social media and liked each other’s work so much that they decided to collaborate. Machodoxleao listened to a couple of his beats and thought that "JAPAN 146 ROCKER" fit perfectly in “Hazel.” The name “Hazel” is not a reference to the lady at the top of the mountain. Instead, it comes after the color of the eye.  When asked about his technique and style, machadoxleao said this is a digital collage. Surprisingly, he does all his work on his smartphone (Redmi Note 8) using an app called “Photo Editor.” With that setup, he has been creating and selling NFTs since January 2021. He gets a lot of inspiration from his dreams.      “Usually I find inspiration in my dreams. Other times in a song. Competition, nonstop competition. People were constantly trying to outdo each other and come up with the next big thing. This led to a lot of pressure and stress.

Plenty of waste, lots of it. With so much experimentation and innovation, not everything worked out as planned. A lot of resources were wasted in the process -- gas, energy, and money.

Some became crazy with power while others crumbled under the weight of their own minds.

There were those who could fly with the power of their thoughts, create entire forests with a snap of their fingers, and summon fire with a wave of their hand. And then there were those who couldn't control their own power, who would shut down their creations.

Few succeeded. The ones who did became the legends that shaped the new world.

https://www.kaloh.xyz/p/2-train-of-thought I’m not sure what caught my eye. Was it the sun? Or maybe the waters condensing into clouds? Or perhaps the birds? Train of Thought invites you to animate the different elements and get lost in your… thoughts. I enjoyed this composition so much that it became my first NFT purchase.  The author is _tmist (Gabriel Melo), an NFT creator from Brazil. Gabriel jumped into the digital art world six months ago, and he has made fantastic art since. The author found inspiration in the rock band Dream Theater. In his own words:      “I was really inspired by an album from a band called Dream Theater. The name of the album is Train of Thought. I always loved the art of their album, but it is very obscure. I wanted to create something related to what this album goes through for me, so I ended up making two versions of this art. The one you are seeing is the most colorful, I wanted to put a little melancholy element in the color of the train and also in the waters with that smoke coming out of them, each element of this art reflects what I felt listening to this album by the band.”  He uses the Digital Collage technique. It consists of taking images or photos from platforms such as Pixels and combine them into well-balanced scenes. Most of his creations take four to five shots, but in this case, he used six: the train, the sea, the birds, the red clouds, the waves, and last but not least, the sun. The sun has become a trademark throughout Gabriel’s work.  _tmist uses Gimp as his tool of choice. In some cases, he uses Glitch Lab and Mirror Lab in his smartphone (not for Train of Thought).      “As a Linux user, Gimp offers everything I need. It is simple and lightweight.”
