Life's a Trip

This artwork is an emotional representation of where I was born and what my family survived. A combination of Cambodia's ancient temple, Angkor Wat, and a genocide that killed 1/4 of the Cambodian population during the reign of Pol Pot. The skulls are a tribute to the many souls that were taken during the "Killing Fields" and the sun rising marks a new beginning for the next generation. I created an original ethereal musical score to accompany this piece and capture the emotions within it.

This painting is a tribute to love and all the lovers out there. It symbolizes how love is immortal, transcending space and time, and enduring until the end of our lives. It reflects the profound truth that love—both giving and receiving—is the most important feeling in life. Love never fades; it lives on forever.

This is the 2nd piece of my collection ‘Cambodian Sanskrit Masks’. This mask represents Kompoan, the demon commander who leads Krong Reap's army. 

Each mask is a character in the story of Reamker, an epic Sanskrit poem. This is a legendary battle between monkey soldiers & demons. Reamker tells the story of King Preah Ream and Hindu Monkey God Hanuman who work together to help rescue Preah Ream’s wife from the King of the Underworld (Krong Reap).
