The battle between Rostam and Esfandiar is one of the epic tales of Iran, addressed in works such as the Shahnameh by Ferdowsi and the Gushaspnameh by Daqiqi. This story is one of the longest sections of the Shahnameh and is considered one of its most prominent literary parts. The narrative, which recounts the struggle between Esfandiar, the Kayanian prince, and Rostam, the champion of Zabul, is one of the tragic sections of the Shahnameh. According to Ferdowsi's description, the nightingales lamented the death of Esfandiar.This story should narrate the heroism of a historical event; however, a definitive opinion about it cannot be given. Both heroes of the story have roots in the myths of Eastern Iran; Esfandiar was a hero of the Zoroastrian faith who was killed in battle against the enemies of Mazda worship, while Rostam is a much later hero compared to Esfandiar. The myth of Rostam may have originated during the Parthian period and could be based on the valor of an Iranian commander who gradually transformed into a hero like Rostam. Since the end of this battle and Bahman's campaign to Sistan marks the conclusion of the era of the champions of the Sam family in this region, it can be interpreted that the battle between Rostam and Esfandiar (and the events that followed) is somehow related to the battles of the kingdom of Suren and the Sasanian Empire in Sistan.

This smile was God's smile that appeared on the child's innocent face. The child proudly hugged his new shoes and looked at the sky with gratitude. He felt that God is present in every moment of his life and this gift is a sign of his infinite love.

Afrasiab is the legendary king of Turan, the son of Pashang, in the Shahnameh. It is also the name of an ancient city that existed in the area of present-day Samarkand. Afrasiab had a wise minister named Pirang Visah. Ultimately, Afrasiab was killed by Kay Khosrow. The first mention of Afrasiab in the Shahnameh occurs during the war of Pashang, in which Afrasiab was appointed by his father Pashang to command the Turanian army. He was able to occupy the capital of Nowzar, and during that war, Afrasiab killed his wise brother, Aghrirath.

Rostam, also known as Rostam of Sistan or Rostam Dastan, is the most renowned mythical figure in the Shahnameh and, consequently, the most important mythical character in Persian literature. He is the son of Zal and Rudabeh, and he is a descendant of Garshasp, tracing his lineage back to Jamshid; his maternal ancestry goes back to Mehrab and Zahhak. He had a horse named Rakhsh, which was his companion and ally in all battles. Ultimately, Rostam and his horse, Rakhsh, were killed due to the treachery of Shaghad, Rostam's half-brother.

I don’t know how it happened, but I found myself walking under a dark bridge. In the distance, I saw the glow of a cigarette, and I got really scared. On the other hand, I was very drunk. As I got closer, I saw a girl leaning against the wall, smoking a cigarette. 

The darkness under the bridge, the cigarette, and the girl created an incredible image, and I found myself staring at her without realizing it. Suddenly, the girl’s voice brought me back to my senses. She said, "What do you want?"
