Hired after graduation by the same company in Chicago. The city life, friends, and detailed work engineering Artificial Intelligence for government contracts simply had the potential to lead her into weath and security. It's all she hoped for.

That was only just the beginning however.

After the establishment of the highway system, many towns, businesses, and communities vanished due to the rerouting of traffic past these hidden gems. Everyday People: A Tapestry of Human Stories

In a dungeon of stone, where shadows reside,
An angry King did dwell, with a heart filled with pride.
His laughter, a rasp, his eyes cold and bright,
A tyrant who reveled in perpetual night.

But a jester, they say, with a coat emerald green,
Dared to bring laughter to this most cruel scene.
Not Percival this, but Hop Frog bold,
With a mischievous glint, a story unfolds.

One night, in the court, with a flourish and bow,
Hop Frog did caper, then kneel very low.
"Your Majesty," he croaked, with a voice smooth and sly,
"I bring you a marvel, to light up the sky!"

From under his cloak, with a flick of his wrist,
A flame did erupt, a magical twist.
It danced in his palm, a flicker so bright,
Bathing the dark hall in an orange-red light.

The king, he roared loud, a most terrible sound,
"A jester with fire? On dangerous ground!"
But Hop Frog hopped, with a grin on his face,
"A mere parlor trick, Your Majesty, to bring joy to this place!"

He twirled and he tossed, the flame growing high,
Painting grotesque shadows that danced to the cry.
Of the wind through the cracks, a mournful refrain,
As the fire grew wild, it mocked at the reign.

His Majesty cruel. The courtiers, they gasped,
As smoke filled the chamber, a thick, choking grasp.
The flames, they reached higher, a dragon unbound,
Licking the darkness, a fiery surround.

The King, he sputtered, his fear on display,
"You fool! You'll destroy us! You'll end us this day!"
Hop Frog chuckled, the firelight his crown,
"Just a taste of your darkness, a kingdom turned down!"

With a flick of his finger, the flames died away,
Leaving the chamber in disarray.
The King, he trembled, his power subdued,
By a jester and fire, a magical feud.

So, remember, dear reader, when shadows reside,
A spark of rebellion, deep down can confide.
For even a frog, with a trick and a grin,
Can bring down a tyrant and let laughter win.

A milky eye, that met its lie.

With veins like rivers, etched in blue,
These hands once nimble, strong and true,
Now bear the weight of youthful sin,
A weathered map where shadows win.

A heavy soul, a weight adorns,
The tell-tale heart, a crown of thorns,
A soul condemned, forever dread,
By past mistakes, innocence fled.
