This is a single photo made in lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic.  A dark sky full of rain had just passed, and for a few brief minutes afterwards the water became a mirror to the sky.  

It speaks to the price and security of being alone in a world turned upside down.

This photo represents the core of who I am and what drives my photography.  It encapsulates everything.

I married into an amazing family.  For four generations they have been visiting this house to celebrate Easter.  They have a wicked chocolate habit.

This year, only three generations were able to attend.  

This photo was not staged - it was taken candidly.  Three chocolate wrappers grouped together with a fourth on a white plate, as if in the light.  

This is the second image from my A Thousand Words series, an open-ended 1/1 series of my best and most personal photos.  This is the first to be auctioned for sale.  Only one copy will ever be available, right here on Foundation.

**Hallucinated Histories**

This special series of videos is reserved for the most interesting series of outputs from my "This Is How I See The World" collection.  

After hours and hours of examining "expanded generation" of street images, I select a combination of rarer and more common generative compositions and sequence them into a false historical narrative of one place.

These frames appear to show a loosely coherent story.  In actual fact, all these images were generated by AI as being equally likely depictions of the world around the central photo.

"This Is How I See The World" will be an ongoing collection examining different AI algorithms over time.

**This Is How I See The World"

In "This Is How I See The World" I have made street photos from around Sydney, Australia, and invited AI algorithms to "expand" them without prompts.

This collection puts the focus on specific AI generation at specific times in history and shows us, the human viewer, what each AI imagines our world to be like. 

By grounding each piece in the real world and letting the image be the only prompt the AI receives, we are invited into an AI dream of reality.

Do we recognise what we see in this dream?  Do we like it, dislike it - or experience some other feeling?

Each piece includes a human hand to remind us that we are the ones who have agency, creativity and can "touch" the world around us.

At the same time we are trusting AI more and more to interpret the world and help us make sense of it.  Seeing the world through AI perspectives, and revealing how that changes over time, is a powerful way to reflect on our relationship to these tools and reality.

The composition of these images references the habit of holding up old photos of current locations to show how they have changed over time. 

In this case, we hold up the present reality to show how our tools imagine the places we live.

"Memes Outside: The Book" is an interactive photobook

To bridge our online, digital worlds into the offline, physical world we need to bring our memes out from behind the screens they live on. "Memes Outside: The Book" is a CC0 book that can be printed by anyone, anywhere.

It has been designed as a physical artefact that is intended to be personalised, or in the vocabulary of the blockchain "be made non-fungible".

The owner of this token is the brave and generous soul who has released this book into the world as CC0.

Inside its pages is the entire collection of "Memes Outside" with an introduction for your normie friends and QR codes taking you to each piece and further reading. There is also plenty of white space for you to draw and doodle in.
