On February 8, 2020, the Atlanta, Georgia area woke up to a rare and unexpected snowfall. The kids enjoyed a day of sledding and snowball fights, while I savored the beautiful sight of snow gently falling on the newly blossoming cherry trees in our neighborhood. It's not often that we get to see seasons collide in this way, and it's a day I won't forget.

I find bird watching just as fun as people watching. Bird photography is not always easy, but I love it.

The great blue heron, a large wading bird in the heron family Ardeidae, can be found near the shores of open water and in the wetlands of North America, Central America, the Caribbean, and the Galapagos Islands. I photographed this heron near the Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell, Georgia, USA. Shortly after I got this shot, I watched the heron snatch a snake from a bush in the marsh and proceed to gobble it up!
