Take Aim by P1x3lboy
"In Take Aim, the basic concept is obfuscation of a familiar image with another. In this case we obfuscate shaped bands with a grid or partial grid. The bands represent targets, with the grid conversely resembling those things in life that stop us from achieving our goals. Although it is usually assumed in life that not achieving one’s target could be seen as a negative, in many ways I see this as a positive piece. I have learned that events which get in the way of our goals are often the very things that make life so rewarding."

The story behind the art
Take Aim is an exploration of the basic human struggle which exists when striving to achieve our goals but also wishing to be present, enjoying living ‘in the moment’. The targets are obfuscated by a grid of rectangles which resemble those things in life which can potentially knock us off course or stop us from achieving our goals.
The work not only plays with this contrast, but delights in it. For, it is in these unplanned moments that some of the most exciting and life-changing events take place. In the words of John Lennon “Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.”
The Artist
P1x3lboy
I'm P1xelboy, a 44 year old generative artist from Liverpool. England. I'm happily married and father to two sons aged, 14 and 10 who are both big fans of computer games and art respectively which I'm sure come more from my side than their mother's! I have an MSc in Computer Science and a passion for all things retro. Until recently I have worked in sales and marketing teams for small businesses but since the growth of generative art in NFT's, I took the opportunity in Summer 2021 to work full-time as a generative artist. Most people would describe me as fun loving, but hardworking and I don't think I have ever worked harder than this last 18 months
