Those slow times can be an opportunity to reflect, learn, grow, connect and build. Reflect on past mistakes. Learn new tools to help advance yourself. Grow your presence. Connect with new opportunities and friends. Build with what you have reflected on with the tools you have learned to bring those connections and opportunities to life. 

We got to be there for each other, if possible, for our friends and family when times are tough. A conversation can go a long way and can help tremendously. 

A conversation and a hug can go a long way and motivate the person to keep moving and take it to the next level.

Hi my name is Ashton and I am a Street City/Landscape Photographer. 

Ever since I got my first camera in the winter of 2012, I have been hooked. Photography for me is an escape from the real world and is a gateway to be creative and explore. Photography is a challenge that requires planning, location scouting, angles, but most of all patience.

As I grow in photography, it has been rewarding socially as well. I have met so many people that I now calls my friends. This is why I love photography: because of the challenges and the social aspect but, most of all, the freedom of expressing your creativity.

As we go about our days, each morning marks a new chapter in our book of life. We cannot see the future, so we write each moment as a new story upon the blank lines of this novel experience. Every page turns, onto the next and the next - covering every range of emotions as no life is perfect. We try our best to get through each day, bounding toward another of life’s chapters. Eventually however the pen runs dry and the book ends, as eternal writer’s block takes hold and the author completes their last line. Live life to the fullest, as we are here on a journey of experience in a story of the unknown.

Lines

As I walk in the snowy streets at night in my Nike Air Max, with music pumping through my in-ear buds, I always find myself lost in deep thought. Feelings of regret, sadness, happiness, and motivation, a roller coaster of emotions that can be both a struggle to handle and a blessing I'm thankful for. I'm someone who wants to take risks, but often feels too scared to do so. Though I know in my heart that I can do it, there is a mental roadblock that stops me. I often think I should be much farther in life, but I remind myself that this is a journey, an experience of getting through these difficult times of self-doubt and sadness, to eventually feel the happiness and motivation that I long for and crave. It's an ongoing battle, just a part of life, and an experience. 
At the end of the day, I just want to be happy and make my friends and family proud.

At times, I feel alone, but I try to remember that there are people who care about me.

As humans it’s these unique traits that make each of us a One of a Kind. This should be celebrated as each one of us have important traits that can help change the world. Let’s make the Spotlight bigger so all of us can be underneath in a positive way.

A cold night in Toronto, Canada, waiting patiently for the roads to clear and for a single subject to walk into the frame, I must have waited for at least an hour for this shot. I did a little flash magic to make the snowflakes pop and give it that wintry feel. It truly makes this piece magical!

Night Fall

It was always a dream of mine to capture the winter street nights of New York City. I am usually a lone wolf and keep to myself. This is a thing I would love to change. It’s a working progress. Red brings the life out of me and fills a fire within to keep pushing forward. The Blues keep me calm, collected, and motivated in moments of despair, sadness, and anxiety in a fast-paced world. Walking with my headphones on, jamming to my tunes, with the magic of snow falling on the winter night while eating ice cream, there is simply nothing like it. This is how I turn the Reds and Blues into something positive and keep it moving.

The Redtonic Blues

The rain creates a glossy canvas on the roads. The street lights create brushstrokes of different colours and brightness. In the city, we’ve all got to do — what we got to do — to make it. We all have our struggles, fears and challenges. The best thing we can do is try our best and Pedal through the tough storm and hope for a sunny day! Never Give Up and always Cycle your way towards a better future!

January Blizzard of 2022 in Toronto, Canada, while most would stay home from the storm, we go out in the snowstorm to document the story of mother nature. This blizzard shut down the city, created power outages  and gridlocks, and caused people to be stranded. I couldn’t go back to my place because the roads and transit lines were packed with snow. That day it snowed 55cm. It was forecasted to be around 30cm. Through the tough weather, I saw people going to their jobs to make their living. Got to respect the hustle and gotta do what you gotta do at the end of the day. Nature tells us a story with her weather. We try to adapt and be prepared to make it through the tough time. It goes to show that though there might be some rough days, but, eventually it gets better with time.

These shots are taken using Long Exposure techniques that take time to master and lots of patience waiting for just the right moment. Some of the pieces have a 3D laser effect that requires precise timing and zooming to the millimetre in-camera to achieve the effect.

The collection is particularly special to me because the first shot I took as a photographer was on a cold winter night in 2013 when I had just gotten my first camera and a tripod. I went to a local bridge with the highway below, and prepared to shoot.These pieces will now forever be on the blockchain for those in the future to see what was, and what can be.We are always progressing forward and moving at light speed towards the future. This, is Lazers!

These shots are taken in cold temperatures and require a lot of time and patience for just the right moment. While people may stay home from the cold as a photographer, it's the best time to capture such magical scenes! Capturing candid moments of people is what makes this truly special.Toronto is a city that is changing which each year going by. In my opinion, the city is slowly loosing its character.  This is why these pieces are important to show what it was like back in the day.These pieces will forever be on the blockchain for those in the future to see what was.I have this saying, "Freezing That Moment FOREVER!"
