On 23rd of June 2019, on our sail from Oahu to the Na Pali Coast, we found ourself sailing along the north shore of Kauai. Winds were calm. We are motor sailing along the coast so I launch my drone. Here you will find the most spectacular shot we were able to collect during out sail. The coast, at altitude.

Blue Crossing


Reflection has a two-fold meaning for this Capture. My excitement to be a part of this space caused me to dive in head first continuously feeling behind and wanting to sprint to catch up. As I continue to venture through this new world of digital collections, I have reflected, and grown as an artist. This capture came during a darker period for myself, but there is a beauty to its darkness. The dark tones greatly contrast the light sky starting to shine though as the sun rises over Kaneohe. These bits of light reflect over the calm waters at their lowest point in the tide which allows the exposure of the reef off the shore. The tide can only rise from here. The sun is bringing its light to the nights sky. My light is starting to shine through. This moment was captured on the 23rd of June, 2021.

Being an Aeromedical Evacuation Officer for the Army piloting the UH-60 MEDEVAC Blackhawk, has given me amazing views from above. I’ve flown just under 1000 hours. These photos are raw, in the moment, and capture some of my favorite moments during flight. Each bringing you into the cockpit with me.

Kīlauea sits in the center of Hawaii's Volcano National Park. Aircraft must maintain 2000 feet Above Ground Level when flying over yet our crew approaches at just below 900 feet. A unique perspective our crew obtains as we conduct a low approach to the parking lot we may use to load a patient if called upon. - Above Ground Level

Over on the Big Island of Hawaii, the Pōhakuloa Training Area ranges were cold, and the medical evacuation mission was paused. Before the ranges can go hot, Charley Company "DUSTOFF" needs to be staged to respond to any medical emergency. Two Aircraft are needed, a primary and spare, to ensure we can launch when called upon. Charlie Company "DUSTOFF" provides Aerial Medical Evacuation support to the ranges of the Pohakuloa Training Area. Two Aircraft sit on Bradshaw Army Airfield awaiting the call when the ranges are hot and rounds are flying.  My crew flys trail in a flight of three. The two lead aircraft barely visible with the Big Island of Hawaii in the background. Two aircraft and one crew will remain on the Island to support its high risk training. We are helping them poster and complete their - Assumption of Duty

The sun rises over Kaneohe Bay. An early rise will always bring you the most beautiful sunrises on the east side of Oahu. This moment Captured on 25 June 2021. 

Here Comes The Sun

On the 18th of January 2019, at anchor at Lono Harbor, Moloka'I, this sunset was captured at 6:24 PM. A waxing crescent moon shines as the sky becomes dark. The last light of the sun still lights the horizon.

This capture is a 1/1 edition and one of my favorite pieces of my growing photo documentary of my time as a UH-60 Pilot. The trip from Oahu to the Big Island was always a memorable flight. In order to assume Medical Evacuation Duty of the Pohakuloa Training Area out of Bradshaw Army Airfield, we would travers through the Alalakeiki Channel between Molokai and Lani passing south of Maui seen here through the windscreen.

A night training flight, dedicated to a review of the procedures of the Prohibited Area Trace named P-73, brought me the opportunity to capture this moment in time. At 800 ft, along the Han River, we flew the required route along the trace to validate our understanding of its boarder. The nights fog, the lack of illumination from the moon, gave me this opportunity to capture and share. A moment out of the cockpit of our helicopter on the Seoul Trace.

A capture of the rising sun behind the hills of Kaneohe Marine Base Hawaii captured on the 25th of June, 2021. The Sun's green flare orb fills as the sun completes its rise.

The glowing horizon at the start of the morning nautical twilight brings a deep orange to the horizon while slowly turning the dark nights sky from black into blue. Kaneohe Marine Base silhouetting while the airfields hangers lights still remain on. A wonderful sunrise captured on the 25th of June, 2021 off the dock in Kaneohe Bay.

In the Soyangho reservoir, my crew and I fly over the water along its beautiful canyons to cross the famous 38th Parallel line marked along its shores.
