Decagons are perhaps the most interesting generative art collection. Decagons are required to log into Deca, create galleries and gain DXP. They are free for anyone to mint and start participating. The image from each decagon is created by a generative algorithm by Kjetil Golid, the artist behind the highly regarded collection Archetype.
These Decagons start at level 0 and are upgraded DXP earned by participating on the platform. When you spend DXP to level up, the algorithm runs an iteration and the image evolves with 3d structures and different color patterns emerge
There have now been over 40,000 Decagons minted and thousands are at Level 30 (the current maxiumum). This makes Decagons the most widely used generative algorithm (that we know of).
To have an infinite art NFT from a master of the craft is very unique and has led to a lot of collecting opportunities. One could simply go to Opensea and buy any that you enjoy the image of. You could then level that up or keep it as it is. Collectors are also starting to by the low ID digits, with a recent sale of 10E for #10, the current maximum.
Right click share is an art project and social experiment by XCOPY and Deca. It is an image made up of 1024 pixels in the image of XCOPY's famous "Right Click Save As Guy."
The pixels were all originally white, and the resulting ID #0 NFT was blank. Each pixel holder was guided to go to www.deca.art/rcs and "attest" the pixel which would fill it in with one of the 4 colors in the image.
The experiment is to see if everyone can come together as a community united by art and attest to fill in the image. As the current time 50-100 pixels have yet to be distributed, and there are many that have not attested. Every year the holders must attest again to renew the commitment.
The pixels were given away for free in various contests from Deca and other communities, and sales have been as high as 6E for the pink pixels, of which there are only 27.
In addition to being an intriguing concept, RCS creates plenty of collecting options, with the opportunity to form a full set if you can get your hands on an elusive pink pixel, of which there are only 27.
Deca has done a fantastic job of expanding the presence of the the NFT art space and has worked with many top artists to help builid out their "Decaverse."
As a part of this they are giving away raffles to users, weighing the odds of winning the raffles by various criteria, most recently aggregate level of decagons and total DXP earned.
All of this series of giveaways will be variations of the Deca logo called "Decals," the first of which was a collection of 10 editions of 10 generative forms of the Decal by Kjetil Golid. Next up is Grant Yun, and we'll see from there!

Deca Collectibles
Deca is an online gallery company building a social experience around displaying and sharing NFT art. They have taken an innovative approach from the start by allowing users to showcase NFTs from any wallet, not just their own. Since then they have released a few innovative features and many of collectibles that have us very excited.
Top of the list is the ability to create token gated communities in a very simple, no-code way - it literally takes 5 minutes. Don't get us wrong, you still have to be web3 native to do this (e.g. find the contract address of the NFT or coins that gate your community), but it is far easier to spin up a community as a creator in Deca compared to Discord or Telegram.
Why is this so important? The easier it is to create a community, aka to organize your tribe, the more communities will form. We believe this user experience is so much better than the status quo that it will be copied across web3, similar to browser wallets such as Metamask becoming ubiquitous for sign in.
We believe there will be more token gated communities than open communities because creators and leaders want to curate an experience, and that's harder to do when anyone on the internet can join and potentially troll or ruin the experience.
What's great about Deca's collectibles is there is something for any price point ranging from free Decagons up to 10E sales, and they have many free giveaways to those who engage in their community. Let's dive in!
Low level decagons appear flat and the beginnings of color may emerge. Many prefer to collect these and are free (1 per wallet) or can be purchased for a small price (< 0.01E)
#10225 Level 0
#701 Level 0
#22372 Level 28
#35709 Level 15
#8177 a unique colored column structure purchased for 0.269E
#11179 Level 0, a stunning red fill, purchased for 0.47E
#10 purchased for 10E, the highest sale to date
#40 purchased for 3.5E
Collectors can also find decagons of various levels with aesthetically pleasing outputs. Here are a couple we collected.
Some structures that emerge are quite unique and have been purchased for high amounts. As the algorithm continues to run iterations, who knows what crazy shapes will emerge. Someone may end up with a one in a million output
Low ID # Decagons have been selling higher amounts as collectors with conviction bet on Deca's long term future.
Decal #40 by Kjetil Golid
We think a lot of different interesting sets will emerge as people continue to collect, and as long as Deca remains popular low ID numbers could hold a premium.
Right now the front-end experience for Deca is creating and sharing galleries with the ability to chat and interact with NFTs - you can think of this as web3 Pinterest. Where else could they take it? They have a lot of options, but they have noted their ambitions to create a "graph" of NFTs and increase NFT discoverability. Could they become the best search platform for NFTs, effectively a web3 Google for NFTs? Possibly. They have also talked about becoming a digital storefront, a better way to find NFTs you might want than Opensea.
As many collectors know, the first company or project to do something innovative will gain historical significance and often a lot of value (Cryptopunks, chromie squiggles, autoglyphs, etc.). If that's the case, some of Deca's collectibles could hold significant value in the future. Again, it's too early to say, but for collector's who believe this thesis, this could be a good time to dive in.
How should you gain conviction on this thesis? First off we highly recommend you sign up for a Deca account, play around with the features, and even click through the process of creating a community to see how it works. Our episode (best viewed on Youtube) goes over how to do this. If your experience on Deca and this thesis resonates, then you could consider collecting some of the pieces below.
