Generative System 2: In this installment, the token ID hash string is read from left to right to create a bitmap matrix and a color matrix. Both are combined to create an image, which is then used in algorithmic fashion to compose a dynamic visual composition.

Gen 3, the third and final installment of the Gen-Trilogy series, uses word combinations to create unexpected phrases. The phrases play with meaning, or the idea of it,  while characterizing identities relating to blockchain and NFT culture in a fun and abstract way. Gen 3 continues an emerging trend of parsing the minted token's hash in order to produce a deterministic image or animation. For each Gen 3 minted, 40% of the proceeds are donated to a non-profit organization called EveryShelter whose mission is to repurpose waste products into useful materials designed to help people in need. # Yuccas and Boxes
One of the things I took away from my summer trip to Marfa was the need to spend more time absorbing my surroundings and thinking back on my experiences. Witnessing the vast fields of yuccas flowering simultaneously and watching the sunrise over Judd's 100 untitled works in mill aluminum are two specific moments that will never leave my memory. Combining these two sensations resulted in generative arrangements of yuccas and boxes.
## Edge of the desert
The city of Marfa is on the northeast side of the Chihuahuan desert. The weather is dry and hot in the summer. Plants that grow naturally in the region, like the yucca, have adapted well to the harsh conditions.
## Soaptrees
In the Americas, there are a lot of different types of yucca. The type of yucca that grows in and around Marfa is called yucca elata, which is also known as the soaptree yucca. These yuccas grow very slowly, only about an inch per year. Yucca elata doesn't always bloom, but when it does, the flowers come out between May and June.
## Sunrise at Chinati
The Chinati Foundation is a museum in Marfa based on Donald Judd's ideas. The focus is on works that have a strong connection to the land around them. Sometimes a special event called "Sunrise at Chinati" is held at the museum so that people can see the many works in the golden light of the morning sun.

A project about nature and algorithm. It's easy to enjoy the randomness of a rock. Inspired by East Asian stone collecting, Really Random Rock brings a collection of 350 unique and unexpected viewing stones that generate from the random output of a hash string. Each rock is fully plottable and derives its form from a closed-loop shape expansion algorithm that makes countless calls to a random function. Through the very nature of randomness, resulting forms may occasionally resemble familiar things such as faces, animals, or landscapes. These results are purely coincidental and are celebrated as chance occurrences ...for this is the very essence of stone viewing and appreciation.

Sharp is usually what results when building with triangles. Triangles are pointed shapes and any construction from them tends to convey their pointed angular nature. With Sharp, I am building compositions using an algorithmic technique known as Delaunay triangulation in which a triangular mesh is created from a set of points. The resulting output is a strong central sharp shape decorated with triangular patterns. The volume of the shape is emphasized via a drop shadow and the whole thing floats over a gradient background. Explorations like this help me hone my creative and coding skills while learning new algorithms and ways to employ them.

Packing algorithms range in complexities with point-packing being the simplest, followed by line-packing, and then shape-packing being somewhat more complex and computationally expensive. Terrazz is my explorative foray into shape packing during Fall 2021. Compositions are built from shapes within other shapes yet each shape never overlaps with any of the others. The resulting output takes on the appearance of terrazzo, which is an engineered material, hence the name.

Unseen Visions - Editions

This is a very early Genesis script output. One main visual factor is the large dots at the vertex of each triangle, a feature that was later removed. This output (generated recently) is from a version of the script that dates back to 2017. At that time, the genesis script was tailored to function within a blockchain environment based on ideas originating from Erick’s early Art Blocks concept, which initially operated via ethereum block hash strings rather than individual token hash strings. Later on, the script was adapted for the web by using the Processing.js library, since the original Genesis script was written in Java.
