Part 2 - The bright, passion and growth.

About series:  
Something happens once in a lifetime where some of our birthdays becomes a palindrome, meaning it reads the same forward or backward. So happen this is today, 22.11.22. With that in mind, I decided to make this a meaningful 2 part genesis mint with the idea of a palindrome but with a slight duality twist. I wanted to capture the same subject but with a contrasting colour palette, hence the pseudo element. Despite how clearly opposed they are, they may very well be complementary and interconnected. I'd recommend to read both image descriptions of part 1 & 2 to fully appreciate how both are inversely equivalent.

This genesis edition is dedicated to my accidental founded love for photography over a year ago, which helped lift my inner-self into the skies as we were all going through turmoil times. So why not hop into the basket and join me on this journey, where I’ll be taking off to a whole new uncharted territory of my mind on how I perceive photography, one flight at a time.

About image: 
This was captured below the sky with both feet rooted onto the soil of the earth. Usually before take off, the basket is placed face side down, ready to fire up the burner into the wrinkly balloon. At a given time, the whole balloon started to take its shape and slowly rises off the ground up into the skies. Relating back to our lives, you will only reach your full potential height, when you learn to pick up the good bits off the ground where the failures were. 

To restore balance in the universe, seek the counter duality part “Yin”.

Fun Fact: Although the cool tones may seem deceptive, I was burning at 30C / 86F capturing this image.

This was captured above ground, up in the partially darkened sky. Fully trusting the flying wires that’s attached to the basket, our life is literally suspended by the thread. A single snap could lead to a disaster. Relating back to our lives, always remember once we’re up in the sky in whatever we pursue, enjoy the journey, and prepare for some downfall as that is the wave of life.

A continuation to my genesis, the journey of my unfounded passion for photography was and still is a bumpy ride. In this photograph, unknown footprints can be seen trekking up a large sand dune. The waviness of the dune rippling through the distance creates a sense of movement, instability and thus symbolises the twists and turns of my journey. The footprints seems small in comparison to the vast expanse of the dune, highlighting the idea of taking small incremental steps marking the progress on our journey and life.

       The gradient sky above of dark to light, with deep grey hues blending into silver light in the distance. This represents the hope and promise of a better future, even when things seems dark and uncertain. It is with these small steps we take in life, that progress is often made one step at a time. With the determination and perseverance, our goals will be achieved in the end. 

And so my journey begins now.

R I S E

Following up from R I S E, my photography journey continues to E X P L O R E the unchartered territory of my once dusty creative side of my mind.

This photograph shows a nomad leading the camels in a single file, walking into the unknown with no visible signs of human civilization. Eventually vanishing behind the majestic dunes with shifting patterns and shadows cast by the sun. The sky is a gradient of blue, starting from a deep, dark blue near the top and fading to a pale, light blue near the dune line. These new colors gives the photo a sense of serenity and calmness, creating a peaceful atmosphere.

Much like in anything new we pursue, intimidation & fear will naturally be present when venturing into something completely foreign. Not even knowing where and when you’ll end up. However it is the focus and the determination of our passion that drives us in these uncertain times, equipping us to face the challenges that lies ahead. In many cases, this leads to incredible discoveries & experiences if one is willing to take the first step into the unknown.

Stay adventurous and E X P L O R E what lies beyond your imagination and capabilities. 
Embrace new experiences, take risks and not fear it, but welcome it as a part of the journey.

E X P L O R E

This photograph captures the raw, untamed beauty of the desert, inviting the viewer to imagine the origins of the dune and the forces that have shaped it over time. The black gradient sky above the majestic sand dune is a reminder of the darkness that ignited the once dusty creative side of my mind. 

The etched footprints of a wanderer in the sand dune lead me to a territory I never thought I would pursue and discover. These footprints tell a story of my growing passion for photography. Each step a testament to my drive to seek out and document the world's stunning moments through my lens. Only after 2 years, I finally summited from the dark and the view over the horizon was life changing. There was no turning back.

This was where my unfounded love for photography was ignited.
