As a big fan of American comics, Verbal designed a ruby encrusted "POW" knuckle ring so he could make his own "POW" punch bubble just like the comics. An instant success in the mid to late 2000s, the POW rings were worn by icons such as A$AP Rocky, Big Sean & Kanye West. A definite cultural artifact.
NIKE AIR FORCE 1 by RTFKT
The Nike Air Force 1 was released in 1982 and designed by Bruce Kilgore. It was the first basketball shoe to use the Nike Air technology. The Air Force 1 was not an instant hit or an overnight success. Only two years after their original release, Nike wanted to discontinue the shoe. When word spread that the Air Force 1 was being discontinued, fans started buying up every pair they could find.
It then became a must have and its popularity has only grown since; becoming a mainstay in music, especially hip-hop where Nelly even released a song about the shoe.
