Gustav Klimt (austrian painter, 1862-1918) is quoted to have said, “Art is a line around your thoughts.”

Thoughts are invisible to outsiders, which is a blessing and a burden. Translating thoughts is not as easy as one thinks. Artists of all genres found a way (or at least trying it) to access thoughts AND emotions to make them visible. Sometimes they translate them for an audience, sometimes it is the mere need to get them out somewhere.

The craving to create from the heart-felt “right now” means focussing on color, composition, material and the story unfolding in front of you. There is always a story unfolding! Just make sure that hand, head and heart are connected and pay attention to the little details:

- the subtle color shift in a background (a new perspective of the past),
- the touch of warm and cold colors (contact with heart and head people),
- the contrast between line and shape (time-sensitive and flexible schedule),
- or figurative and abstract patterns (analog and digital world).

A door is a powerful metaphor - coming and going, arriving and leaving. Certainly, there is a movement involved. Usually one walks through a door with expectations and sometimes finds these unfulfilled due to various circumstances. If outside circumstances - especially lately political in so many corners of this world, but also healthwise or financially - prevent you from filling your wellbeing, from thriving, or simply surviving to your ideals and beliefs, please search a new „door“! There ARE alternative doors and there ARE people walking through these doors with you. Stay safe, healthy and mindful!

It is a huge misunderstanding, that our lives are linear and developing. It is not true, that we constantly grow, become more, better, faster!  And this is especially not true for a woman's life, as women live in cycles - literally physically. The origin comes from an evolutionary thinking and is not related to a human life. We manouver through (outside and inside) circumstances, sometimes this is easy and sometimes there are quite some obstacles. Yes, we advance in technology and science, but the daily struggles of "surviving" (and I do not mean the search for food, although this is real for some) is a universal, human and non-linear experience.
