Every peak, every ridge, every line  
Tells a story.

A chronicle of elements, 
A manifest of the earth.  
Of shifts and stillness, 
Shadow and light. 

Wrinkles of time engraved in the mountain face  
Display a rorschach of the human soul. 
A reflection of self, 
A reminder of our existence in space and time.  

No matter where the mind may stray, 
Here, the heart is drawn back to earth.  
And light that sparkles along the snow  
Presents the silver lining, 
Guiding our ascent.

I've had a vision for some time,  
A chromatic scope for arts, entwined  
Between lens and pigment, 
Water and mind.

Some paradoxical fission in my imagination,  
Finally, come to life, 
Through trial and frustration.  
Invisible, 
Intangible  
Until it clicked. 

Like most great discoveries in science,  
An accidental reaction. 
Where they seemingly randomly aligned:  
Watercolour and photo combined  
Perfectly. 
Joy and epiphany.

Now I'm running  
On some high.  
Try to catch me.

Shutting down, we power on. 
Unplugged, dark screens illuminate  
the black mirror; reflecting 
the labyrinth inside. 

The illusory world fades  
for the elusive self to rise.  
Ripples of introspection  
with mountains of clarity... until  
swept by the virtual tide.

Do I belong here?

This energy is anxious, not bright. 
With no end in sight, just fight or flight. 
These kids aren’t alright. 

This air isn’t light. I’m suffocating, chest tight.  
Neither smog nor smoke… no, it’s generation “grind”.  
Precluding creative bliss whilst numbing the mind. 

I don’t want to march amongst drones. 
Friends, rather than “seeing” each other, hide behind phones. 
Physically together, increasingly alone. 

Isolating while feigning connection.

With such velocity, moments are blurred. 
Amongst such chaos, waves won’t be heard.  
Souls that are perpetually drifting, left unsecured.

Humanity is no longer human.

I need solitude. A space to pause time, allowing  
My spine to align,  
My heart to restart,  
And my brain to regain the vibrant energy that’s drained from my veins…

No, I don’t belong here.

I'm feeling lucky to be lost.
Because only then can I be found.
A spirit in the sky, one amongst the clouds.
So far up, yet at ease to look down. 
To review the route that led me here, to navigate the unknown. 
To find this, in fact, always was my home.
Rediscovered, in this space between the earth and moon.
I am the astronaut.

This collection visually captures the state of wonder I've experienced in nature and the alpine. A marvellous paradox of chaos and peace; an orchestra of nature.

Every summer I run away to the Rockies. 
It's my way to leave the demands and noise behind, and move toward a place with energy and life. It's a wonderful opportunity to find outer peace. 
On this trip, we visited Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park. My dream to see this place had finally become a reality. Of course, the peak itself and surrounding mountains were enormous and epic. But what I found equally impressive were the smaller details, often tucked away in the shadows until they were revealed by pockets of sunlight.

An energy once subdued,

Now flows grandly through my veins  
Scatters through my very being,

Rhapsody in Blue

"Orchestra of Nature" is a visual album with 9 tracks - 1/1 photographs with accompanying lyrical poetry.

The album highlights moments of wonder and reflection along the Na Pali Coast, and moved through three phases:

First, along the Na Pali coastline of the Kalalau trail

Second, moving with the waves of the Kauai shorelines

Finally, a crescendo occurs through the final three pieces, the "Symphony" of the rainbow.

Can this be real?  
Can I document this moment  
To prove that it isn't a hallucination?

This vision can’t be possible  
I have witnessed for hours  
An instance that would otherwise be transient  
Time has frozen in creation.

From ominous clouds and moody greys 
A mysterious shape took form  
A crown of light atop the shadowed king,  
To display earth's coronation.

This clashing, chaotic, serene harmony  
Of earth, light, water and air,  
Performed an orchestra of nature.

Incarnation;  
The universe, delivering signs  
That we are exactly where we’re meant to be.

I collapse at the call.

He taught me to climb, she taught me to roar. 
Through darkness and light, we learned how to soar.
We carved our own paths, opposed limitation, 
Grew rich in adventure and honoured vibration.

On this mountain ridge, I pause. 
Rewind. 
Look back, to witness moon and earth align. 
As astrocytes glimmer like stars of the mind, 
An electricity, 
A presence, 
Lights up my spine.

Ahhh, there you are. Of course, I was wrong. 
As waves are to water, souls eternal, live on. 
In Himalayan winds, within every crux, 
Forever connected in infinite flux.

ASCENSION [pt I]

There's a road on the mountain.  
You know where you hope this road can take you.  
It could lead you to its peak... 
but you don't know for sure. 

Two options are clear:  
ascend or descend.  
You believe you have a choice...  
but "choice" is an illusion. 
A paradox.

The concept of choice, 
seemingly comfortable, freeing, 
actually is counterintuitive. Freezing. 
More is less, as simplicity is bliss. 

So, it doesn't matter where you hope the road will take you... 
you already know which way you have to go.
