Growing up and even now, the feeling is undeniable whenever the sun shines in the Summer. It triggers an urge to gather your friends and head to the local lake for a refreshing swim. This was a regular occurrence for me and my friends, whether we sought out a hidden swimming hole or visited a familiar lake or river to spend the day. Those moments held a special place in our hearts as we loaded up the car and embarked on a day of fun with our friends or family.

These four pieces of art evoke a sense of nostalgia, reminding us of the joy of being outdoors, breathing in fresh air, and fully embracing the present moment with friends. Even on rainy days, these images transport you back to those cherished experiences, igniting the anticipation of your next lake day.

Glide Time

This was my original painting for the Art Show Tribute to Japanimation with Spoke Arts Gallery in San Francisco, CA.

I'm such a huge fan of Miyazaki films, specifically Ponyo and Totoro. I wanted to bridge his movies with my Alimo world while paying homage to both their environments. The result invites one another to participate in both worlds creating a narrative of exploring.

I had so much fun creating this scene and hope you do as well.
