Bamboo scaffolding is a traditional and miraculous skill in architecture, which is popular in Macau and Canton province. As a kind of engineering, bamboo scaffolding has over 400 years of history. It looks very simple, no matter for constructing a tall building or a small neon board, it is mainly established by light bamboos and cable ties. The advantages of this skill are convenience, high efficiency and low cost. And the most important is, it is very steady, not easy to collapse even being hit by a strong typhoon.  

The workers in this photo are climbing on the bamboos, working for the reconstruction of a church. In Macau, we can always see some Western style buildings constructed or reconstructed in this traditional Chinese skill. It embodies the cultural diversity of this city.
