The altar, in my interpretation, is a symbol of balance and justice. Everything has its own value. And only by sacrificing something can you get something in return. Space is an endless field of possibilities. But a choice must be made. You cannot know what you will gain. But mirrors make you see what you sacrifice, understand the value of what you lose.
