CA Monti #107

The third and final installment of the Self trilogy.

Ego is defined as: the one of the three divisions of the psyche in psychoanalytic theory that serves as the organized conscious mediator between the person and reality especially by functioning both in the perception of and adaptation to reality.

All projects are written in vanilla Javascript, composed as SVG and then rendered to a 2d canvas.

There might be slight differences in rendering from browser to browser. This is expected as they might translate the SVG slightly differently. Let's call Chromium renderings canonical. They also render faster there and we love that.

Press "S" to save a PNG.
Press "V" to save a SVG. (Chromium browsers render these pretty well.)

By default, these will render at 2400 x 3200 pixels. This is at density 1.

To render at a larger resolution you can append “&d=2” to the end of the url. This will double the resolution. You can also use 3 or 4 or whatever your browser can handle. Safari tends to have problems with this, so stick with Chromium based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc.)

If you want to render as a square image, so it is optimized for ummm.. your pfp or something, you can append “&sq=t” to the url.

If you want to get rid of grain, just append “&g=n”

Self, Ego #130

Eval is a recursive generative artwork. 

The code that is displayed is the code that is used to draw the artwork itself using `eval(code)`.

For stylistic effect you also get a small Eval Skull and a frame.

Eval #6

You are out on the Fractured Fields hunting for gems.

Gems out here get infused with "windshine" from the eternal winds always blowing across the fields.

Infused gems can be used for "glowcasting" ~ a magical ability to transmute materials ~ and are thus extremely valuable.

The 10 Kingdoms of Mara Pakaru that surround the fractured fields compete on collecting the largest amount of gems.

Each field you come across has a 40% chance of holding a gem deposit. For each field with a gem deposit there is a 40% chance of finding a gem. Gems increase in rarity depending on how many sides they have.

The most rare of the gems are the gem-hearts. Only 1/100 gems are gem-hearts. Gem-hearts are said to contain parts of the heart of the field-god himself, and are infused with a astonishing amount for windshine.

Which Kingdom will you join?
How many gems will you collect?
And who will strike it big and dig up a gem-heart?

The Fractured Fields #27

"Stellar Waves" is a generative art project that combines the mesmerizing patterns of Chladni's with the radiant colors of stars. The project uses algorithms to simulate the vibration that form the Chladni patterns, and then applies a     color palette inspired by the hues of the stars to create abstract and mesmerizing visuals. The outputs aim to evoke a sense of cosmic beauty and wonder.

Gen., Machina is a generative artwork exploring life.

Life, created by winds blowing across a surface producing self-replicating patterns, gradually turning into little machines.

Using Stephen Wolfram's approach to Cellular Automaton we explore how the environment can effect changes in structures and create self-replicating patterns.

We explore what happens when we change the rules of Cellular Automaton and what different patterns and effects this might have.

In rare cases we explore Conway's Game of Life algorithm to create another view of cellular evolution.

Gen., Machina #21

Multidimensional Maximalism is my learning experience with layering and composition.

Using the Cellular Automaton algorithm from "Gen., Machina" we create multiple dimensions of life. Each with it's own unique evolution and structure. Like petri dishes in a lab. We then use different compositional elements to explore these dimensions.
