# Beginnings Pearl
Pearl diving has been tightly woven into UAE culture and dates back to more than 7,000 years. The industry created a period of wealth for the country and relied on extensive expertise, from shipbuilding to sailing. For years, the finest pearls in the world were found in the warm waters of the Arabian Gulf and were considered the most sought-after accessories of the time. "Beginnings Pearl" is an artistic homage to this time in history.

Of the many detours my camera gave me over the years, what surprised me most was the curiosity this little one held in his eyes as he stood supervised within the wood block. A wood block to not let him wander away from home, a block for him to stay protected. Children have a way of expressing without much to tell, in their silences, glances, and mischiefs. I stood near this kid on the "Varambu" - meaning a piece of land separating a waterbody and farm fields; where his home is.

The child quite naturally is restricted to this area, but pushes himself to look around and peek from afar. With the "Kajal" bordered across his eyelids, his stare seemed very strong and curious to me. A curiosity that gave me a reflection of the land and the lake beside. If you carefully peek into his eyes, you'll see the world around him, literally and figuratively! (try zooming in)

Curiosity

At a rooftop cafe in Bangalore, around 10:00 PM speculating to keep a watch at capturing a photograph, I was trying to click a long exposure of the stars in the sky with the lamp in foreground. An unknown jerk out of nowhere, happen to occur. As a result of which a blur of light from within the lamp seems to have been exposed in my capture. Such accidental shots of awe are rare. I believe this one will always be special to me. As a photographer, being vigilant and reading my surroundings is something i try to practice daily. But sometimes a movement from Mother Nature helps me find shots of awe like these.

Outside the Box

When the little house by the shore gleamed with golden light by the setting sun, 
two wide eyes stood gazing at the water searching for the boat that will bring his father home.                       

Dawn to dusk his father ferries passengers across the river but when the sun touches the far away trees,
And the sky turns golden, his father will cross the river for the last time, tie the boat and will call his name,

Any moment now...

He will tell him stories about far away travelers, their journeys that brought them there;
He will tell him about the distant places with strange names and how they have delicious candies and colorful food...that one day they will see it all.

He will bring him tiny trinkets he found on the way and tell him tales of how it journeyed all the way just to be in his little hands,
