Generative music with visuals.

A unique fixed melody is generated for each mint. Variables of the moving shapes are set each time.
A tempo for your piece is also determined at them minting stage. The harmony, bass line are generative and change subtly each time the piece is played.

Part of the "Ten Miniatures for Self Playing Piano" series.

Generative music created with a Pure Data patch which outputs MIDI to control the piano. Each composition has different qualities such as tempo, harmony and time signature and different possibilities and probabilities of which notes can be played on each beat. The series will be a maximum of ten pieces made up of compositions written for this project and iterations of their performances.

This piece is in a 5/4 time signature.

Four beams of colour shine random patterns across the canvas interweaving with each other and leaving a trace. After five seconds the piece stops leaving the final image for that iteration. When the piece is reloaded the beams will take different paths. The minting process will determine the position of the origin point for each beam.

A Whisper

"Nocturne" is a collaboration between MCHX and Azerty Betamax.

An audio visual experience with late night vibes. The visual, created from javascript and CSS and reacts to the audio. 

The visuals were inspired by the works of 20th century abstract artists, retrofuturism ideas and space films. In combination with music, it aims to create a pleasant relaxing environment for the viewer. The visual includes 8 different versions united by one idea and color palette. Animation is tied to sound effects and is generated indefinitely. Each token has its own unique set of design and appearance at the beginning, but the colors and shapes of some of its elements change during the animation process. The generative music is endless, different each time and created entirely from code. A unique bank of notes is determined each time it is run and the music is played using only this selection for your copy. A lead synthesiser sound is also chosen randomly from four possibilities.

MCHX + Azerty Betamax

Digital Heart is a generative music piece with reactive visual created with vanilla javascript and WebPD. Every iteration has a unique, fixed, four bar pattern which repeats as long as the code is running. 

WebPD is a compiler for the Pure Data audio programming language allowing users to run .pd patches in web pages.

WebPd is highly modular and takes a white-box approach to audio programming. It converts the audio graph and processing objects from a patch into plain human-readable JavaScript or AssemblyScript. The pure audio generated code can then be integrated directly in any web application without using WebPd or Pure Data ever again.
