Who am I ?
I'm Charlesai, a French doctor and NFT artist. I've started making AI art in early 2021 to initially keep my mind off the stress of working ER shifts during covid. I needed something to evacuate the sadness, the frustration, the fear, the not seing the sun for multiples months, from my mind. I've always painted, ever since I was a child, but when I discovered AI art with VQGAN + CLIP, I was instantly hooked. I knew I was touching something that would make both waves culturally and artistically in the future. I started minting my works later on with some colorful landscapes in my Surprised by AI collection on Opensea which caught a lot of attention and essentially started my journey here.
Since then, I've had the opportunity to exhibit my works at the MoCa Gallery as well as the IHAM art gallery in Paris. My work was also sold in the first french physical NFT auction at the Fauve auction house in Paris and exhibited and sold in the first European physical AI art exhibit in Nice, France that I co-organised with Diapo Gallery. With my AI artist collective AI Infused Art, we organised a 100% AI physical exhibition in Rome in the Mecenate Gallery. I also had the priviledge of having my work exhibited in Milan with NinfaLabs for the Medici exhibition, which Cozomo de Medici, one of my collectors, organized. "Shooting Star", one of my SuperRare pieces was also exhibited at Art Basel Miami with Transient Labs.
I also had a bit of media attention and got interviewed by BFMTV, one of the biggest french news media, to discuss about my creative process and my opinions on ai art, the ethical issues surrounding it and what it entails for the future of art. My work has also just been published in the 2022 Beaux Arts magazine.
My work has also been used to teach art students about AI art in several art schools worldwide in several prestigious institutions such as the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia, National Institute of Design , NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Paris College of Art, Pratt Institute, Rome University of Fine Arts...
