Living in the present moment and then leaving it. Something that was there before is gone. This is a depiction of a memory. A depiction of an eye blinking. The memory lives on in hazy black and white, the colorful bottom section is the fleeting present moment. 

Blink

How was it made? By living it. This is a depiction of scars, a depiction of accumulated points of pain in various stages of healing, always to be replaced by a new fresh wound at some point. 

Scars

My grandfather in 1985 after a long day working construction. Dirty coveralls, crooked hat, cigarette in hand, on the phone. A complicated man to many around him, but he was a father figure and the most positive male role model I had as a child. I was in the room when he passed away in 2003. I saw him frequently after his passing in my dreams where he was always silent and never spoke. I visited him again while on ayahuasca. I relived the last time seeing him at home and sitting on his porch. He had been battling cancer for years, and I thought he would make it through again. His sight had failed him, but he called out my name when he heard my voice. His beautiful white hair was falling out and I don't remember what he was talking about because I was too concerned with things I thought were more important. 

Rabbit Hunter

The final piece created for this collection explores movement in darkness and light, the revolving nature of life. A beam of light emerges and continues moving forward on a timeline of unknown length.
