Daily coding is a process of writing, composing, and binding code. This time, however, I had 60 minutes to write code and then delete it to complete my work. As a result, I will never be able to recreate the details of this code. I wanted to include a sense of wabi in the code I would write as I expected to part with it all.

Tyx` by rudxane, 2022
Tyx` is an evolution of the original Tych algorithm, generating both a positive and negative side and combining these together through abstract geometric masking. Inspired by x-rays, by breaking the natural flow of the doodles the work tries to emphasise the structural elements of the doodles and scribbles.

In this work, I try to combine two techniques together in the spirit of flat colour. First a base built from an algorithm and destructured using an artificial intelligence process, then an overlay of algorithmic generation as a pencil drawing to express the finesse on top of this arid and rough base. Should we see it as an allegory of human society, man can produce horror as well as beauty.
Heron by goldcat, 2022
Finished in the final hours of 2022, "Heron" is my latest exploration into contrast and digital texturing. It is the first piece where I set myself a fixed dimension aspect ratio of 16:9, perfect for the elongated body of a young person. The human anatomy has always fascinated me but most recently I have only used it as a starting off point for my work. Not focusing on naturalism and, similar to the piece "The Swimmer", abstracting the head beyond recognition has had a freeing and inspiring effect. The Heron, standing tall, is half submerged in water, in my eyes this is a pond. Instead of giving us answers we ask ourselves, why did he enter the water? What pulled him there? The piece is digitally painted, its size is 6105 x 3434 pixels at 300dpi.

Denial's Embrace by Zenoyis, 2022
The art piece that I created focuses on the theme of grief and the stage of denial. In the art, there is a figure who is reaching out to an angel-like figure, as if they are trying to be taken away to be with the person they have lost. The theme of the piece is one of longing and a refusal to accept the reality of the situation. The figure in the art seems to be stuck in a state of denial, wanting to escape to a place where they can be with their loved one again. The art captures the raw emotions of grief and the desire to find solace in the face of loss.

Untitled Panorama #1 is a composition made from 24 photographs of a digitized photograph originally made with medium format film and displayed on a full HD screen. This image is a meditation on the digital realm as a landscape, one that exists beyond a screen or projection and that is increasingly inhabited by us in one way or another. Thinking about the traditional approach to landscape by American photographers such as Robert Adams, I wanted to create a landscape that felt as if it could be inhabited without losing sight that the thing we are seeing is behind a screen, so I let most of its imperfections be, resulting in an image that is distorted by the zoom of the image and the type of screen in which it's displayed. With this image, I wanted to talk about the experience of looking at a screen and its implications on our perception of reality.
Makeshift Epoch by Waxbones, 2022
I wanted to create something that was different from my usual pieces but still had that Waxbones style that has become so recognisable with my work. With the rise of AI art I wanted to experiment with how AI can be a tool for creation and idea generation; a step in the artists journey to creating a piece, rather than the means of creation. Using Midjourney, I opened it up to my community to use prompts they thought were synonymous with my work and from that I played with the results and redrew them to create this piece: Makeshift Epoch.
