Kolomyjec's Moiré
Created by an XY plotter programmed in FORTRAN between 1970-1975 at the Michigan State University.
The Work of William J. Kolomyjec
Frog Pond
An image of a frog is randomly located in a circle. After this relative position is determined, the image is rotated. This work is an answer to Charles Csuri’s “Flies”
Horizons
Another example of diminishing forms. One algorithm determines the position and rotation of the bird. A second algorithm is used for the spacing of the lines creating the horizon effect.
Le Mortè de Beardsley
An exploration into the art nouveau style. The feathers of the bird draw your eye up to the top of the piece and the long neck brings it back down.
Coming and Going
Algorithmic plotter art from the 1970's.
